Optimal Settings
Hi all,

I've been messing with my settings, and even though my system has pretty good specs I'm getitng stuttering and inconsistent framereates with tpp and GZ. What do you think my optimal settings would be with my setup? I'm also using an reshade, dunno if that affects performance. Anyways, my specs are:

OS: Windows 10 64 bit
Intel Core I5 Quad Core @ 3.50 Ghz
8GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 970

Try to let Nvidia Geforce Experience optimised the MGSGZ with your video card if you haven’t done already. Mine did the trick with the GTX950 card.

Your specs are solid, you should run the game very smoothly

Followed you guys's advice, seems to be running smoothly. got rid of the reshade because im not sure it works with the latest version of the game and might be a bit more intensive. Game looks fine without it really

Set graphics options to the standard configuration and then (for TPP):
- lock the framerate to 30fps;
- set textures to max (it doesnt matter for framerate so set it to max);
- put lighting to low (it'll low the bloom effect and raise up framerate, specially at night);
It's the way I play and it's all good and smooth!

Just one question everyone, should I bother with any of the settings in the nvidia control panel?

No need to.

I'd suggest setting power management to best performance and multi-display to single display, but these are general settings, no need for anything game-specific.

Please don't be stupid.

I'd be stupid if I dont lock though. If I set the framerate to auto, the framerate gonna float around and it'll cause a lot of stuttering and lag to control (even if it plays around 40~60fps to me)

The nvidia setting are worth some mention here, as there are some settings that are just good to have globally.

Pwr management mode -> prefer max
multi display / mix gpu acceleration --> single display performance mode

if 144hz panel then Preferred refresh rate --> highest possible.

You might also consider installing Razor Cortex it auto optimized background processes and services to improve performance.

Im also using a 970, you should be able to run it quite well.

Getting pretty frustrated here. I've tried a crapton of things, and I still am not getting good frame rates. If my specs are enough to run it smoothly, why am I still getting slow down? I scanned for viruses, turned off any anti virus or other resource hogging background applications, still nothing.

Please post the graphics options you have set.
