We might've been able to officially choose if Venom Snake is a woman(spoilers)

With the way the female characters transition from Snake or other male soldiers seamlessly in gameplay, and even getting the swapped female models work in the cutscenes great with only minor and very brief weapon-in-hand misalignment bug, I think there might have been a point during this game's development that we could've chosen if Venom Snake is a woman.

After all, the Big Boss in this game is anyone we could've chosen it to be. That was supposed to be this game's theme, right? "You, THE PLAYER, becomes Big Boss". I have seen a lot of women online playing this game anyway.

There could've been two ways this would have worked (loosely) within the canon. Just have Ocelot lie to Venom Snake either that:

1. The Legendary Big Boss was never a man, but a woman, to conceal her identity from the public

or

2. The Boss was never killed in Operation Snake Eater, and Venom IS her.

....Probably the development team thought, somewhere along the way, that it would ruin the 'we're not Big Boss, but a bootlegged version of him' ending, even if the ending was ruined anyway.

most women of high physical fitness, strength and ability like someone that Naked would state was 'the best solider we had' would lose a lot of their fatty tissue, making their breast size diminish in turn. so there is a chance that from the extreme damage of the helicopter blast and the plastic surgery required to create Venom, Venom might've been/could've been a woman.

if there is a MGS6, there might be a slim chance that the next Snake is a woman.
