Hello!

tl;dr: I've fixed MGS2 for pc. Download it, play and have fun with an amazing game!

I've played all mgs games more than once in the last 15 years. One of my favourite one suffer the WORST pc conversion of all times.

After 15 years (game was released in 2001) is playable in the way I like: I've fixed almost every little flaw with the (ugly) original launcher, gamepad and vibration supported, widescreen fix and gpu fix included, plus tons of other minor and major things.

I've started coding my little patcher months ago. I've released on reddit and almost 400 people has downloaded it. Now I've released the 1.02 version and is more polished than ever.

I don't think that konami is smart enough to release the HD collection on pc (well...same fate as castlevania and silent hill, I guess) so.....we fixed ourself! With only 10 mb and 30 seconds of time you can play the game without having to think about poor jobs that konami has done.

Joke aside, check in the dumpster.
It was the only place to put a such beautiful broken conversion.

I seriously don't understand why they don't release the series on Steam: would put in their pocket so much money without having to do any significant work.

Maybe you should check yourself code on GitHub before making an accusation, don't you think?

If you are scared of UAC warning raising, well: it does even on the original Konami setupper. At startup the fix will launch 2 exe done by Konami that will patch the game to 2.0 version. You can find it inside 1_Homemade_Patcher.zip inside Resources folder (on github). It's the same that original Konami patcher use, I didn't invented anything. The second time is when it start the game, and it does the same things with original setupper.

So there's no strange things around. Also is open source for a reason.

You pointed VERY right that isn't a good idea run any exe you will find on the net, but if you are using an Android phone, or Win10 or basically almost any software existent they do MUCH more things on background without your approvation. And they don't even open source.

If you have some anti-virus that raise some alert I really advice you to change for a serious one.

If you trust virustotal here a scan[www.virustotal.com]

I've struggled a lot even to code a fully functional fix. If I can code malware/spyware ecc without even realizing it I'm MUCH much better than I thought :D

If you can point me any "malware" behaviour of any kind let me know

Sorry for the necromancy but, thanks for this fix. Just wanted to show my appreciation. I have the old Substance edition on disc and dug it out recently. Thanks to your fix I have a 4k game.

Shame that it is based on the Xbox port and there is no support for putting the holdups on a trigger. But that's the game code, I would imagine.

Started playing the game with your fix and it's amazing. The only thing that i'd say is yet to be fixed is the awfull texture quality.
An extra patch could probably be made extracting them from MC or HD collection for those that want it.

Does anyone here know how something like that could be made?
