Mission 14 - Lingua Franca
Hello,

I tried the mission several times now but how do you save all 4 prisoners? At the beginning, I identify the interpreter and before I follow him, I save the prisoner that gets escorted away from the starting point. Then I follow the interpreter and when he reaches the next prisoner in that shed, he simply stands around for a while, doing nothing.

Then he walks away and I quickly tranq the other soldier in that shed to prevent him from killing the prisoner. Then the interpreter gets into the jeep that's close by, does nothing again and then I get the radio message that the prisoner should be disposed of as per protocol and then I lose 30 heroism because a prisoner died.

Any way to prevent this?

You got too close to people at bad times and broke scripts. If you know where all four prisoners are, you can tranq and fulton the interpreter at the start of the mission then quickly run around and grab the prisoners. The two in the cage area are the hardest, because sometimes the scripts cause the guards there to just randomly kill the prisoners.

If you are desperate try to see the answer on a youtube video because I forgot how to do it (been a long time since I've played SP) but if you interrogate guards one of them should know where that specific prisonner is being held, zam.

This happens anyway, if you wanna complete the side-objective to listen to all interrogations, just sometimes earlier than intended. xD

Interrogating prisoners isn't really an option since I only get the Afrikaans interpreter in this mission ;)

Capture him, finish the mission, do some stuff, he join you, you do the mission and complete all the side objectives, easy, zam.

Yes. And sometimes it happens early because a guard spots a dead body or ko'd guard, the scripts go haywire and they just shoot them. Or, even more fun, the guard shooting them can shoot the first one, spot the dead body of the first one then call an alert like he'd found one of his friends dead.

Lingua Franca is the most busted ass mission in the entire game.

I shot guard on tower, guy who was moving prisoner went to look, shot that guy to, done! interrogator with another guy kept walking. And i extracted all 3 of them.

Well, I did it anyway now. When I restarted the game, the checkpoint was at the point where he was standing with the second prisoner. Though this time, he immediately began walking to the base, so I ko'd the guard that was left and fultoned him and the second prisoner.

Then I followed the interpreter, he went into a building and stood there again. Using a walkthrough map, I found the location of the third prisoner, ran to him, saved him before any radio call, got the intel file with the prisoner locations, saved the Viscount and then I proceeded to clear the camp, fultoning the interpreter last because he stayed inside his building the entire time.

If you wait, the Viscount is led to that building from off-site. As you probably saw from the map, he starts off being held in the jungle somewhere.

When you rescue the prior prisoners they'll mention that he was meant to be interrogated at night; if you start the mission at night, the interrogation is the following night.

Phantom Cigars will help if you replay the mission later.
