edit: resources are not so significant. you can relocate any fob later to alter resource metrics, but you can't change the layout..
layouts don't matter for you, but do matter for intruders.
In most cases layouts don't matter for intruders either, but I guess that depends on how good you are. Decent players can adapt regardless of the layout. Sure it might be easier to take out the BaseDev generator from a deck or two away coming up from behind, but if you're good enough, that's easy enough to take out on deck 1 itself while everyone is taking a nap. Cameras are easy to avoid on that deck no matter which way you're coming in.
I can't believe I used to let this get to me and now it's like taking candy from a baby.
