Anubis is the jackal-headed ancient egyptian god of the dead and mummification. Anubis guides souls from the living world to the world of the dead, so you could read into mgsV and link Anubis as the link that "passes things from one world into the next." Just like a wormhole.....
or it could mean nothing at all.
It's Metal Gear. Just roll with the nonsense.
which is reason enough to look a little deeper than most games, since most of the Metal Gear series is historically accurate.
if u look at one of the African Jackals and press [Q], Ocelot will tell you that the African Golden Jackal is a genetic hybrid, something that the Russians were experimening with in breeding a hybrid Jackal. It's a little allusion to the Le Enfants Terribles project that you learn about later on in the game.
Could be that D-Dog was part of the russian jackal-dog hybrid project, since Venom found him in Afghanistan near russian outposts.
yeah, but where's the fun in that...:)
