METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

Why did Konami abandon this engine?!
Every time i play this game it really steams my clams that Konami probably dropped a couple million on making this engine and then said **** it we're done, and abandoned it.

It's an amazing engine, if Konami doesn't care then can't they lease it out for people develop other games on it?

They're using it for the football simulator games and for MG Survive. It's not QUITE abandoned. But, yeah. Licensing it would be nice.

It's not an amazing engine. I have no idea how the hell anyone considers this an "amazing engine" even though there are far better ones out there. And it wasn't KONAMI that worked on it, it was Kojima Productions - and they have all followed Kojima in his new studio. KONAMI has almost no other studio under them that are familiar with FOX

Considering how the scalability of the engine works, it is a pretty amazing engine.

Like previous comments have stated, PES games are made using the FOX engine and the next MG Survive is using it as well. That shows they are working with it.

Kojima and Konami both own the engine as they developed it together. Kojima is going to use it with his new upcoming games under Kojima Productions.

No, Death Stranding is on Decima. Same engine as Horizon Zero Dawn.

Edit: Also, Konami has exclusive ownership of Fox Engine. That's just how business goes in Japan.

engine is great but it needs development and it needs time so better hardware can render more.

it is not really a waste, I doubt too many people would use it because of such limitations as it is very situational.
looks awesome, but has drawbacks

I'm fairly certain the hard coded npc limit isn't actually an engine limitation, it's a limitation set by the devs for the game because the game had to scale both for ps3/360 and pc/xbone/ps4. There's no way the engine can't handle more npcs than MGS5 can show at once(What is it, 12 or so?).
I'm playing Deadly Premonition right now and this engine is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HORRIBLE which sucks because everything else about that game is awesome. I wish Deadly Premonition was on Fox Engine.
