Tips for FOB Infiltration?
I have probably about a 25% success rate right now; luckily these days nobody plays so I haven't been retaliated against yet. I read a few pages that said to bring tranq pistol and just "tranq everyone in your path" but literally every guard on every FOB wears a helmet so the pistol is useless.

I'm almost tempted to just put a shield on my back, equip battle armor, and sprint to the goal mowing down everyone in my path with a machine gun and then hiding until the alert goes away.

7* pump stun shotgun with a suppressor. First hit staggers, second hit KO's even against guards in full armor. The tranq pistol is worthless on any lethal FOB.

That's what I figured that's why I was confused that so many people are saying always bring the s. pistol.

I usually bring the 5* AM D114LB-9. I prefer not to kill on FOBs, but it's the only sidearm that reliably goes through helmets. The stun Uragan has uses too, but I'm not fond of loud.

If you didn't know: you can still get the no kills bonus if you ko then chuck guards into the ocean. Doesn't count as a kill.

It really depends on the FOB level and the amount of platforms and time you get to do it... and if you use a dispatch team first to weaken the FOB. When the guards are lethal with battle armor you can send a distpatch staff to attack the armory. That will lower the guard level and the armor and head gear they are wearing.

I personally never bother with non leathal unless the guards are non leathal too. As long as you use surpressed weapons you can be quite messy and deadly as long as the guards don't have the time to sound an alarm. If you have the time on the FOB you can also start with laying claymore mines and/or sleep mines on the stairs at the infiltration point and then just lure the guards with an active decoy... all guards will walk on the mines... and the few that remain are easy to kill. With the first platform cleared it's quite easy to snipe all the other guards... or even with the grenade launcher.

The intention of the FOBs is clearing them super stealthy and non lethal, but you don't have to do it that way. The only penalty of doing it loud and messy is that you wont gain a lot of hero points or even get negative hero points.

Augh just got so close but that stairwell on the command platform is brutal. I should research better gear before I keep doing this.

You CAN go messy, but as someone that's been playing the series since MGS launched on PS1, going that way feels wrong. Only time I've ever done that was the PC version of MGS1 on very easy. Going ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the silent infinite ammo MP5 was amusing.

Yeah I don't really need staff just quick money and I'm trying to increase my rank. May as well just kill everybody. Way easier.

In that case, anti materiel rifle and one of the double barrel shotguns.

hail is nice, but I like having with knockdown for point blank range that isn't going to blow me up. Heh

I like how the double barrelled sawed-off can have a scope. Talk about redundant.

It can have a flashlight and a laser sight too. Combine those with the MASSIVE rangefinder scope and you have one of the most hilarious looking weapons in the game.

Also just realizing that PF Rank and FOB rank aren't related, right? PF Rank is done via mock battles? So to increase that I should pump my FOB with S rank security staff? Anything else help besides the carbon missiles and such?

The PF events are filled with cheaters that have like a million tanks and stuff so I wouldn't focus on that to much. Once you have 3 or 4 FOBs filled with S staff and also have tanks/walkers and stuff then you can maybe brake even in mock battles against the cheaters.

Aww that's lame. I wish game companies paid attention to stuff like that and permabanned people. It wouldn't really be difficult to tell if someone was cheating.
