Just be sure to have Steam cloud off or do it 100% offline, so Steam cloud doesn't try to take over and restore the file.
Edit: Again, have shadowplay turned off too. Again, it doesn't work for most systems with this game and causes the game to crash. It very well could have been the cause of the whole thing to begin with. The game doesn't like it. If you want to try it again after you have it working, go for it, but keep in mind that it very well may not work with it.
https://gyazo.com/95b48174b6eaf7adf6b61e94996ab998 i'm still seeing the save file in there though? is it just going to try and restore my old save when I play?
UGH! That's because you didn't manually remove all files like I said, which is my preferred method to ensure nothing else is going on with any of the userdata files. It might work that way If it was purely a rogue Mod gone bad, but if anything is corrupt in any of the files, you could be right back at the same problem, which is I why I said to verify that all files are gone.
Edit: In theory, you should be able to delete all the files in the userdata folder and the game will recreate them when you launch it the first time excluding the save game which will recreate after the hospital scene, although the only ones I know for sure is the Graphics config file and the save game file. I'm not sure about the others. That's why it's best to manually remove anything the uninstall didn't remove before reinstalling which would be everything in the 287700 folder. That would be both the App install folder as well as the userdata folder.
https://gyazo.com/ab1ab6eab1c11e230c90e8be797ac58b but if I try to install mods again is it gonna mess up again?
https://gyazo.com/ba81db629059e23452aafa144962e031 should I revalidate the game files?
The save file doesn't create until AFTER you've completed the prologue, so you won't see it there until then. That's why I said to play through the hospital scene. After that you can copy your original save back in to pick up where you left off.
After you copy the original save back in, be sure to hit a checkpoint before you turn cloud save back on.
I wouldn't try to install any mods until after you see it working again.
as for the mods crashing it again. You run that risk every time you install a mod. It could or it could run just fine. Be aware that not all mods can work together and will crash the game if they don't like each other. I don't use mods for the most part, but others around here do and can tell you more about which ones are compatible with each other.
You should not be trying to do anything with snakebite at this time. Just play through the hospital scene and get your backup copied back in to get where you need to be and forget the mods until the mod users wake up and can give you mod information.
I wouldn't attempt any mods at all until after you're back to normal first, which you still need to play through the hospital scene, copy the save file back in and verify that everything is working properly.
Then consider mods, but I'd let the MOD guys direct you from there.
See above message. Forget the mods till the game is working and back to normal.
ok i'm really confused now so I should just keep snakebite uninstalled? and you said it wouldn't create the save file till after so do I just do the hospital scene from yhe mission select? it acted like I didn't even remove the save(it continued on a mission I was in.)
Strange. With only the personal Data files there, it shouldn't have. That game should have recreated them. Do another screenshot of your userdata to verify that the personal files are all that was there.
did you connect online? It's possible that Steam cloud restored
Edit: Also.... NEVER install a mod mid-mission. This causes problems too. Only install Mods after you're in the ACC and exit the game from there. This could have been the source of the problem the whole time.
Ok I probably should have went back to the ACC. I'll try that once I can get the game running again..
Which I can't. I tried using snakebite to "turn the files back to their original state" uninstalled the game then I reverified the games files but it still shows this now:
https://gyazo.com/cb25722db6ad038e0694fa2d1aa1ebd5 with the little windows mouse loading thing.
I didn't disable shadowplay because it was working last night but then I tried to install snakebite again. I still have my TPP game data on my desktop but inside the local folder is nothing. It's completely empty now.
What did I do wrong? how do I fix this?
Ok update so SOMETIMES it gets passed the the little loading dots but then it just hangs on my mouse loading..
https://gyazo.com/5aac2762110e32dd41c6a8bd52f3dce6 this is what's in the folder now by the way..
I don't understand how to turn shadowplay off... iv'e done everything I could.

https://gyazo.com/a4c6f9274b4730e1ca498dab596b97e0 when I start up the game with mods on it won't work and I get this message.
Ok now i'm just starting to get pissed off. I read this from the install txt:
"e-check you have copied the Infinite Heaven .zip \mod folder to MGS_TPP\mod"
So I did:

I even put it here for good measure:

I don't know what the ♥♥♥♥ else it wants from me. Iv'e literally done everything it wants but it's still not good enough for the game.. i'm still getting the same message about it not being able to load modules.
