Truck driver got a big mouth
I read this thing this morning that, to keep it brief because he used way too many words to explain something so simple, if you hopped in the back of a truck and lay down you'll continue processing materials even though you're AFK all day.

I figured what the hell, I'll try it. Sure enough, after a few hours I had a lot more processed material and a lot less unprocessed, so I've been playing with ways to stop a truck other than EMN, which stuns the driver and takes too long for him to get up and on the road again.

My first go at it was too simple because down at Da Shago Kallai, the truck always stops for a period of time. So I wanted the one that goes by Smasei Fort. It has a nice long route that passes through multiple checkpoints along the way. Now how to stop the truck.....

I decided to take out a small outpost of 4 guards and pile the bodies up in the middle of the road. That'll make him stop. Sure enough it did and just sneak up and hop in the back. All is fine and good.... except....

Now, everywhere we go along the route, whether it's an outpost or a base this stupid truck driver gotta open his big mouth and telling everyone about the bodies found in the road immediately putting everyone on that route in a soft alert. Even the places he doesn't stop at and just drives through. What the heck is he doing yelling out the window "Dead bodies in the road" 600 meters back.

Although this explains a lot because during the standalone game play I was doing something at Smasei Fort and they kept going back and forth between Normal Patrol and Soft Alert and I couldn't figure out why, but it was always triggered by that stupid truck driving by. Now I know why. I must have left some dead bodies on the road at an outpost somewhere along the way.

Might be something for someone somewhere to be aware of. Stupid Truck driver and his big mouth. :)

If I do that, I usually land at the chopper point north of spugmay keep at 1800. Shortly after 1800 a truck comes up the road to the south. Toss a decoy or two in the road, they'll get out to investigate, hop in the truck and wait for them to finish and drive away with you in the bed.
Edit: You can also deploy with the silenced non lethal assault rifle/smg and put a rubber bullet into the body of thetruck right after they pass you, then sprint to the bed and hop in.

If you use an EMN mine, did you try kicking the guy back awake and then quickly jumping into the back while he stands up?
I don't know if it makes him go into soft-alert as well, but sounds like a good way to circumvent waiting for him to stand back up.

The alert-passing also occurs with foot-patrols. I've accidentally soft-alerted an outpost and left to capture a guard post. Half-way through some soldiers are running down the road to alert the guard post as well.

I've used a decoy before, but all I had on me were stun decoys, so didn't want to use them. If my intent is abduction, then yeah, I often shot at them and they stop, but it's a bit more risky because they look back at where the shot came from and could become a wasted opportunity, which did happen to me earlier. They saw me in the back of the truck before I got laid down and shot up their own truck. Dumb@$$. :)

Any other ways of stopping a truck without stunning them or shooting them?

I didn't try that, but I will just to see if it alerts like the dead bodies in the road does.

The simplest way to stop any vehicle is putting D-horse or DD in the road (D-horse is better since he won't move without your say-so, also better if you want to AFK).
As long as the truck isn't in alert mode, it'll stop for a short time to honk your buddy out of the way. (If the truck is alerted, they just run over them.)

You can also put another vehicle in the road, if you don't mind it getting blown up.

Quiet won't stand in the road. She refuses to. She told me that she's here to snipe, not to stop trucks. Girl can get an attitude when you try to tell her to do something she doesn't want to do. :)

They might not break in time if they don't see him fast enough tho. Saw a truck kill a guard who probably run out of the base to warn them.

...then they went out, looked at the body, then at themselves, then they pulled out the radio...

...and then I shot open their heads, because no ♥♥♥♥♥ is gonna blame her teamkill on me.

Oddly enough, vehicles don't see people, they just expect them to run out of the way. I was following the truck driver in the Devil's House mission and one other guard was moving back to his post.
Same thing happened, guy got ran over and died, and they called it as if an intruder did it.

Luckily reloading checkpoints removes any soft-alerts, because the save system in this game is super wonky.

Saw them stop at people too, not to mention animals.

Well this is a new one......

Up by Central Base I put out a Stun Decoy. Driver stops, Passenger stays in the truck. Driver shock stunned and I'm in the back of the truck. The passenger gets out and starts driving, pulls it up a bit then stops for the stunned driver in the road. Wakes him up. the original driver takes off running and the passenger gets back in as the new driver and passes right by the running driver. haha....

The little things that amuse.

Try KOing both of them before they spot you with the rubber bullet rifle, extracting the truck, then hiding until they wake up. Half the time they don't even radio in. THey just start walking the truck route.

I did that a lot during my "must have every truck" phase.

D-Horse will stop all land vehicles including tanks.

Besides the good for nothing else Horse and just meeting it at a stopping point. Anybody got any other methods. I tried a variety of decoys tonight and they all trigger the same soft alert along the entire truck route.

Well... the soft alert shouldn't matter if you're in a box.
