Snakebite mod manager causes game to crash on startup

It locks up at the initial load, like 10 seconds into the game before the main menu; I dont even install mods and the game freaks out just by letting snake bite touch something. Any ideas on how to fix this?

1.copy your save file off to another location
2. uninstall then reinstall the game
3. play through the opening scene till it saves/hits a checkpoint, which recreates the save file I generally play through till ocelot and I are sitting on horses and ocelot leaves.
4. copy in your old save file

That should, in theory, resolve the issue. Although I fully admit that there may be ways to fix it without doing all that. If so, I'm not sure what they would be.

Fixed it; turns out it was the NVIDIA overlay. odd enough it would crash the game ONLY if there were mods
