How to not get invaded?
I've heard a lot of things reffering to FOB's, that the game forces you to attack other players aswell as defend yourself from them. But what if I want to play singleplayer the whole time? I've never wanted to play multiplayer in this game, and the game is forcing me to create a FOB. This will lead to me losing my staff members aswell as resources.

So is there anything I can do to focus the game on the single player instead of it forcing me to go multi? It's annoying.

You're being awfully pessimistic. You only have to have 1 FOB, and Mother Base is still where the bulk of your resources are kept. If you don't attack anyone, the odds of you being attacked are low (but not zero, admittedly).

The game doesn't force you to attack and defend. It forces you to create an FOB. If you don't care about your FOB, just build it and leave it alone. It does give some benefits to having it such as a higher staff count. 200 vs 100 per unit, which is why I created mine. Having the 200 enables you to level your teams up enough for the better weapons quicker.

You do not have to attack and defend unless you want to. Although these days, there's not much for people attacking. I just fill my security team with all the staff that I would have dismissed anyway. It's like my own little dirty duty unit. :) Get sent there and you're on your way out the door buddy.

80+ hours in and I've only been attacked once, by someone who wanted to disarm my nuke, which I only built to stop the stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ voiceover every time I logged in telling me I can build nukes now. And I lost pretty much nothing.

Build a base, ignore nukes, don't go attacking other people and you should be able to ignore the online stuff.

Most times no one will invade as the online is well....kind of dead. Most FOB's are low levels anyways. Just upgrade it to level 20 or higher and no one will invade unless they're a real bad ass but again, online is kind of dead so no real worries. Over 500 hours here and only been invaded a few times, and that was when it first launched and the online was booming.

Set your security settings to long-range.
Instant deterrent.

Once you start sucesfully infiltrating other FOBs incluiding the event FOBs your espoinage ranking will increase. You will start to apear on peoples infiltration target lists. Also DONT build a nuke or some high-ranking PF will just take it off of you.

Tell me about it. They'll see you and get you from the next platform over. Kinda Krazy getting through that.

Yeah long-range is kinda an odd duck. If you trigger a soft alert then the legally blind soldiers become friggan Hawkeye. On the other hand there are less of them and they arn't so mobile so if you stealth it's easier then the other range styles.

You're looking at FOBs in the wrong way. I used to think the exact same as you until I realised you get far more resources from having it than you'll lose, especially if you never raid any one else. You'll also get increased staff amount levels which means you can research more weapons, amongst other things.

The more you attack, the higher your rank will become and the more likely you are to get attacked. If you don't attack, your rank won't become better and you are very unlikely to get attacked and even if you do, it'll be just the once and you'll still get more resources from having an FOB than you'll lose.

And for what it's worth, the game doesn't force you to attack anyone.

Hope this helps!

If you really don't want to ever get invaded, only have the one FOB you were require to build, and get all of it's platforms to 4/4 with a lot of security. That is very unappealing to a lot of players. If you leave it with 1 platform and barely any security, you're like a 19 year old virgin at EDC.

Me included. I hate the UAV's. To deter me all you need is a few of those and I'll leave it alone. I've been targeting ones with no UAV's on purpose, but the down side of doing so is that I keep going up to higher levels, they're getting harder to find and I still can't handle FOB's with more than a few UAV's.

Although, I would like to know why the squirt gun won't take out the cameras. I tried it for giggles earlier and ......... nothing, just a bunch of water on the camera. I thought it would be a way to take it out without it being obvious that it was shot. Someone comes and checks it out and sees no obvious signs of foul play. It didn't work that way. :(

If you have a nuke you will be invaded at least 3 times a day. At least. lol

I believe you only need to worry if you build a nuke or you're in the top 1000 in espionage/pf rank. To be honest, it's mostly the veterans that do FOB invasions now, since most people don't play anymore. MGSV fob veterans will mostly go for like the top 1000 player fob's or ones with nukes because invading low level FOB's are a waste of time when you're in late game.
