Other ressources (ressources, vehicules,..) gathered in single player are stored online too, making gmp with selling not easy.
I don't know what a FOB is but I dont use the MGO maybe thats why..
MGO and FOB are two separate things. You'll unlock FOB eventually. In short though, Single player is not purely single player. It has nothing to do with what MGO is. It encorporates a different form of online play against other PFs. That's why the separation of funds. Although I'm not sure I agree with MGSFC R1SK in that it's not needed. Weapons development is expensive and those funds would surely help. Even more so when you don't care in the least about FOB and are play purely for the single player side of things.
Although, I'll let ya know. Once you do unlock FOB, you will want to beef up your security because online attacks very well can affect offline inventory when you get attacked.
EDIT: Another additional note to what Delta said. Just don't let your offline GMP go in the red and you'll be fine. Don't look at the overall numbers, look purely at the offline funds and don't let that go into the negative figures. My online funds always stays in the double digit millions. Also, offline funds maxes out at 5 mil. Not sure why. Should have been more like 999 mil.
Oh man this sounds not good for a guy that does not play regularly, so for example, if I will not play 2 weeks it could be that i got raided to the bones?
Btw thanks for the detailed response!
In theory yes, but in reality no. I mean it could happen, but it's not likely. I got raided a few times when I first unlocked FOB, but nothing too terribly drastic that it was hundereds of people daily. It was one or two this day, one or two a few days later, etc. You're typically matched up with others of the same PF ranking, which similar to your staff, the ranking starts off at E, but has more steps up than Staff rankings. My current PF Rank is C-. So I'll get matched up with other people who are C-. It's still a relatively low level. I've found at low levels if you have beefed up security, nobody bothers at all. Other than the first few days of having no security at all, which made for easy pickens, once I figured it out and beefed up security, the attacks stopped entirely until I built a nuke a couple days ago. Just be warned, don't build a Nuke. :) Like ever. Then you become a target for everyone and level doesn't matter. Someone will steal your nuke and you'll be left with all the negative side effects of having built said nuke.
That's been what my experience has been, although I have put in a lot of hours in a short period of time, so it could be different. Although if you don't play very often, it will be a LONG LONG time before you'll unlock FOB. I don't recall exactly when it was, but I think I was about half way done with the storyline or more before it unlocked. Really the first half of the game is learning to play the game because there's so much to learn and the spread it out well so you're not overwhelmed. I would say that it was the last major thing that unlocked not counting all the weapons upgrades you can get along the way.
Apparently, there's some players who have stopped playing, but leave their stuff lightly defended for others to get, as a sort of gift. Don't remember who, though, I just read about it somewhere. Either here or Reddit.
Forgot the name. It pit your FoB against other player's FoB in a virtual battle. You get point rewards for winning and can spend those points to get ressources or soldiers.
Yeah, it's a virtual battle. You don't loose anything from them that I can tell, but if you win you earn PF Points that you can exchange for prizes. Higher ranking staff, Metals/materials, plants, etc. There's a weekly league and a short league. The weekly league you're pitted against two people per day. The short league you have to "send application" for, which is really nothing than hitting the space bar to send application and the following day you'll participate. The short league is over a 24 hour period, but it's riddled with cheats though. Every week I've been top of the non-cheaters, but there's usually 1-3 cheaters in the bunch that modded their game to have an unattainable amount of vehicles or other items that makes it impossible for anyone else to win and they get inflated PF points to spend because of it. I think it's still worth doing because a little bit of something is better than nothing at all and it's really just hitting a key and it does the rest. In a month and a half I've had a grand total of 1 day without a cheater in the group. So where you can gain some PF points out of it, just don't expect to win it.
Although, I wonder if the cheaters was what the extended outage was about yesterday. I had two cheaters in that group, but now when I look at the list, I can't see cheaters.... although I may have my days off and that was the day before yesterday. Yesterday's and today's don't have cheaters in my short league. Any losses were legit.
You can usually identify cheaters fairly easily by comparing stats. You'll be a higher level overall, but their offensive and defensive capabilities are off the charts. Then if you look at the Detailed stats, their vehicles are like 100000+ when you're under 5000 yet you are still 20-40 levels higher than they are.
