How can I play MGSV:TPP offline through steam offline?
I don't have an internet connection right now at my place. It was cutoff, due to financial problems. Now, I tried playing this through steam offline but it didn't allow me to. How can I play it without using the internet? note that I am writing this post from an internet cafe, near my place.

Please check an advice. Thanks in advance.

get a good wi-fi antenna and connect to same internet from your place....

Maybe I'm wrong in how I'm interpreting your question...

If the problem that you have is that the game boots up as Metal Gear Online 3, I imagine you would have to boot it up as such from a place where you have internet connection and then go to options and set the offline component as the default one to boot.

Did that answer your question?

I think he received a message such as "Steam is currently in offline mode, for the first launch go in online mode".. game will not launch without the internet no matter what. You will need to let steam connect to the internet once, yes only once, then you can go offline after that. And then you can launch the game in offline afterwards and never receive the message again. That time I was at rural area, I have to used usb tethering to get steam online once, then have no problem running the game offline ever since.

Also do you replace the saved folder with another one? I think if you do that steam will need to go online and re-verify the game again..

Thanks @TheGuyWithNonameButMightHaveOne your thoughts alone are well appreciated.

Hi @No_Quarter, that's not possible as the near "my place" internet cafe is 2 KM from my house, its still near though, as I can travel it on foot. Also, internet cafe here in the Philippines doesn't offer wifi connect from a residential location.

Hi @Vladlmpalador, 'am not playing MGO 3, i just want to play MGSV:TPP in offline mode without connecting through internet. Thanks :)

Have you tried running the game directly?

<SteamPath>\steamapps\common\MGS_TPP\MGSVTPP.EXE

In theory, you could make a mobile phone act as a wifi hotspot an connect you pc to it.

That is very expensive in a lot of places.

I very much agree! :/

I did not suggest a permanent connection. See it as an additional idea to what was suggested earlier in this thread; the Steam client needs to be set to offline mode.

If your internet has been down a while, you won't be able to play MGS5. Denuvo needs to check in with their servers occasionally. If it hasn't been able to check in, you won't be able to play the game.

my first hand made 16db wi-fi antenna (costed me less than 10$) was able to have decent 60% signal from 2km away, was even able to play PvP games with very good ping.
it is very easy to make one and if you decide to buy, chinese have some with amplifiers at like 30db and like 30$ that can go way beyond 2km, especially in such area where there is not much signal polution as not every building has 60 wi-fi, one for each apartment.
You'd get perfect signal.

so you would not be limited to a caffe, it is very easy to unlock any wi-fi, there are lots of tutorials on air-crack.

just a food for though, that's how I did it for years before stable cable internet was established in Serbia and only special places could have it.

its hard to explain in words, but if you're living in the Philippines, this is completely not possible. Specially on urban areas. But then again, thanks for your kind thoughts on shedding some ideas. :)

Yeah, that's what I am thinking as well. Thanks :)
