if not so stop pointing fingers
If you have a controller plugged in disabling all of them will disable the controller too so mind that.
Next thing, windows has some virtual controller thingy going on, google somehting about how to disable it, it is somewhere in control panel but that's as far as I know,
This is done by opening the Device manager, expanding the HID section then unplug the mouse and plug it back in. Watch for which one goes away when you unplug the mouse and which one comes back when you plug it back in. Do the same with the keyboard. Those are the ones not to disable. All others should be disabled.
A little worried for the guy since that was not said and he did say he "wasn't a computer guru". Just going through and disabling them all in one shot could very well leave him not being able to control his computer at all without the knowledge of how to get them working again.
If the User finds himself in this situation and has any other means of getting here, then here's a possible quick fix solution......
If all HID devices are disabled and your keyboard and mouse stops working, in theory you should be able to just unplug the keyboard and mouse and plug them back in to any other USB port EXCEPT the one(s) that they were plugged into. Most of the time, this will reset the drivers as they are usually port specific and plugging them into a different port will recognize them as a device that has never been plugged up to the system before. Although you may find yourself not being able to use that device (keyboard, mouse or both) plugged into the original port, even you unplug them and plug them back into the original port. If this is the case, you can use a different port for the mouse to re-enable the first port again. You may have to use the keyboard to enable the original mouse port for the mouse to work in the original port again. Unless you happen to have a 2nd USB mouse, then you could a 2nd mouse to re-enable the original mouse.
Hope this helps if you find yourself in that situation.
yeah this actually solved problems with controls vefore
That and the ai being able to spot you in the support core room through the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ floor, I really hate it when that happens because unlike the snipers I have not been able to figure out what exactly triggers it
I haven't seen that one before. Now I feel lucky. Although, it's probably the same reason why if there are AI soldiers down there and you throw a sleep grenade on top of them the floor above it will put them to sleep.
