Either do or don't do, there is no try. Oh wait, wrong movie. LOL
Double check it. Most of the time it's due to Shadowplay and the game doesn't like it.
To disable it, go into the option of the Geforce Experience. In the General part of it, disable set the share slider to off and you're done.
Hope it will help.
These are some other things that have happened and it could be any of these......
1. Corrupted Save File causing game to freeze on startup.
2. Bad, corrupted or incorrectly installed MODs
3. OS issues and User had to reload the OS
4. Hardware Issues

.... You can follow the troubleshooting steps on this one all the way through to resolution, which pretty much covers everything that could possibly happen with one of two possible worst case scenario solutions. His was software, but the other worst case scenario solution would be hardware related.
