Except FOB is where the resources are that you want. What you're failing to realize is that single player is designed so it will take you forever to earn the resources so that people will focus on FOB for those needs. The resources you gain from FOB far outweighs what you get in the field. On average, you would have to deploy 100 times or more to gain what you will in 1 single FOB infiltration.
Either get over your FOB fear and develop the high level weapons (one's in yellow) or don't develop the high level weapons.
Simply browse around on there. Most of these mods are easy installs with snakebite and will certainly ease the pains of progressing offline. Just remember that with these kinds of things installed, you'll want to avoid interacting with other players online, like in FOB invasions as some mods can affect how npcs and such will interact with venom/the avatar.
