FOB Drones
Does anyone else think these things have xray vision? Seeing me through everywall and bridge?

They might have NVG vision, try using sneaking suit, which has in description protection from being seen through NVG.

Some soliders have x-ray vision, spot you over 60m away from behind a wall while you're crawling in the shadows.

That's not xray vision, that's mapping issues with the fobs. There's places where soldiers can both see and shoot you through walls.

Drones don't. For them to spot you right away you have to pretty close to them or walking straight up or running. Even if you're crouch walking, there's plenty enough warning to get back into prone. Just always keep an eye out for the warning signs. That's not even to mention that they all have the same pattern and only break the pattern if they spot something fishy. If you stay up top the whole time they're pretty easy to avoid. It's only when you go below deck that it can be tricky because anywhere below deck will be close enough to them to get spotted. Just make sure you can get to your box pretty quickly.

Yes, and so should you. They're incredibly useful

Yes. If I can hear a drone and not see it, I'm in a box till I do or the sound goes away. Sometimes I'm in a place that avoiding detection isn't possible, so in a box is the only option. Just don't move when in the box because drones will look the box over. If you move when they're doing that, instant detection.

Random tip: if you use a DD staffer with S or higher in base dev, you get drones and cameras automatically marked within 20-30 metres.

Also, from raiding some abandoned bases that had drones, they seem to share bits of their AI with cameras.

And as Seamus just said, cardboard box is pretty much invisibility to a degree, unless you're moving quickly enough to actually get spotted.

That was doc, actually. I just said they're useful.

My bad.
But yeah, C-box is definitely useful, so that's one thing Miller was actually right about.

He was also right about not trusting Huey.

Mostly during soft alert, where some soldiers is in crouch position, hiding behind object and doing the head peeking out animation, eventhough their head seems to be behind the cover but they always uses the vision of their head peeking out.

This is kind of off topic a little, but the most useful thing I've seen has been the drop and grab. (hanging from a point, pressing C to release, then pressing E to grab the next point down)

Where I find this most pertinent is during a soft alert, quite often I'm coming up the pipe on the Bridge side of a deck and there is a soldier ducking for cover on the other side of the raised AA gun platform by the ladder. If there's a soldier there, 9 times out of 10 he can see right through the AA gun walls and you can't get a shot at him, so what I do now to combat that is go up the ladder to the AA Gun right when you come up the pipe then climb over the railing and drop down. You catch the next grab point down, watch where the camera is looking and climb back up. The funny part about that is if the camera is pointed your direction, it doesn't trigger a combat alert unless you climb up while it's still looking your way. Otherwise, you just fly right by the camera and it doesn't care much, if at all.

Make a video of this, or it might go over my head

Already did. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit:

Try this one. Also shows a perfect example of where they hide and see through walls. If you came around the AA GUN down below, he'd spot you through the wall and no wait to get a shot at him during reflex time. If you want to go straight to what I'm talking about start at the 2:05 mark.
