Animal list complete, but 1 is missing.....

Looking at the animal list, it shows I've gotten them all. There is not a single one with a question mark, but in the percentages it shows 97% and 46 out of 47 collected. How can you tell which one the game thinks you're missing otherwise?

I'm guessing that at some point in gameplay the last 6 months I've collected an animal and died before hitting a checkpoint, but if none of them have the question mark, how do you know which one it thinks your're missing.

Check your Emblem list under the Customize Tab and check your animal emblems. The emblem list may show which one you are missing.

This is just a guess but...have you finished the main storyline? Some MGS Titles are known to gate content behind a finished storyline and/or no alert story finish.

Also I don't know if it counts as a wild animal but I would think D-Dog would be a seperate case (since it's an extraction) have unlocked D-Dog?

A really long time ago, yes. :) I've been playing purely FOB for months till recently felt like finishing some stuff off in SP.

The guy has over 2,200 hours into MGSV and most achievements, including the one for reaching max bond with DD and the one for completing the "Truth: The man who sold the world" mission.

As already said, it's the Leopard Tortoise, though I could see its picture missing in the list during the video.
But yeah, personally, I still got about 20 animals to catch. Lovely...

@Epic: there is a specific area where you can find the Black Stork [crane?] in Afghanistan.
It's about 150-200 metres east from Da Wiallo.

Yeah, I missed that when going through them. All the other ones showed a ? on the left too, but that one didn't. It wasn't until I already knew which one was missing and looked at that specific one that I could saw the great big ? staring me in the face. I was looking on the left where the little pictures are.
