This is in fact the case with certain achievements like the ones for defeating tougher or toughest opponents and for victory on a big huge maps. The ones people are having issues with not trigerring at all are the ones for specific types of matches like Science Nerd and Assassin. Those don't seem to trigger at all, or rather rarely at all as it seems some people have managed them. These specific game modes also have issues with being counted when it comes to number of games won for people who are having issues with the achievements triggering.
They are a notification of success and should apply upon said success for full effect.
In this game I get random achievements here and there. They are meaningless. There is no satisfaction.
Some I have earned, some I haven't, some I am still yet to receive despite meeting the conditions.
Then you haven't played very many games on steam, have you? I've played at least a dozen games where achievements are awarded at the conclusion of a map, or the completion of whatever task.
That's exactly what I'm saying. The achievement should be awarded upon the completion of the task, not in a random amount of time afterwards (or never), and definitely not if I haven't earnt it!!
Example Achievements that I know I earned correctly, but the system didn't reward are:
1.) "Big Huge"
2.) "Generous"
3.) "Skilled"
