In-Game Online Store *still* not working
I've just finished the game's campaign and am starting to play Raid mode. While playing Raid Mode, I tried to access the Online Store but couldn't, I was reported a prompt of "Failed to acquire data".

I have checked all hardware/software firewall settings and they all check out (I can have my game installation sync to RE.net) but this is the only part of the game that is not available to me.

Before anyone says "you're not missing much", I get it. But I'd like to still have this working anyway for if in case I should want to get something from the store (insurance).

I'd like to get response on behalf of someone from Capcom preferably on the matter.

Thank you in advanced.

You're not missing much. :P

If you were curious though, the weapon packs are all pointless, it's literately all just store trash. Same stuff you'd find in the store normally. The only thing of possible value would be the red crystals.

Red crystals do the same thing as the blue crystals you can get through doing the daily missions. Early in Raid mode they give you 10 blue crystals right away, like the first time you do a daily mission or something I forget. After that you can get another 3 blue crystals per day doing the two daily missions. Blue crystals cap at 30.

Raid mode is so easy in Rev2 (compared to Rev1) that you'll probably rarely want to even use them. I'm always at the cap of 30 since I die so rarely. Mostly you just want to save them up for the RE.net events if anything.

Duly noted. But I still would like that feature working.

make sure the the in game re.net is checked in settings...you may have synced re.net to this game but you have to open the game up to re.net...its in settings/options somewhere.

btw...you dont need to buy anything from the store...everything is free in game.

Thank you. But once again, I'd like that feature to work.

There's literally *nothing* you're going to buy from the store. Seriously, it would be better to just outright remove that feature from the game, don't know why they bothered when the weapons you buy from that store will become useless in 2 hours of playtime.

Red crystals are equally worthless as you'll quickly reach the 30 blue gems cap and you will most likely never use them, or you will use them and recover them back the very same day by doing daily raids.

Not 100% accurate if you are actively putting a lot of attempts into level restricted challenges. Those hearts will run out pretty quick. The last level 100 restricted was a perfect example.

Regardless whether the online store is useful or not, I'd still like it to work.

If you want to challenge yourself then yes, you're going to waste them all in the same day no matter what mode you play. Does spending 30 gems in one day ever happen though? Unless you're super terrible at the game, no it wont ever happen no matter your number of attempts.

You will never reach the top 10 during events anyway because of hackers, there's literally no further goal to achieve than finishing the three "achievements" during an event to secure the 3 prize parts (And probably a 4th one by being part of the top 1000, which is super easy).

There's no skill involved in using gems over and over anyway, I don't know who can brag about finishing a stage by using tons of them. It's lame as heck.

May I ask you what are you exactly going to buy from the store anyway? Is it the red gems? Are you seriously going to spend tons of dollars in such items? Are you really *that* bad at the game that you require them?

I am not judging you for spending your money the way you want but oh boy, this game must have one of the most pointless in-game microtransactions ever. You don't sound like a person who would attempt a recommended level 100 raid with a level 1 character and end up spending over 30 revival crystals to finish it so I'm not sure *what* you're exactly complaining about.

You'll have to live with that kind of response because... (Read below)

...No one from Capcom will come to your thread and specifically talk to you. All they do in this place is post changelogs. Your best bet is to go to capcom unity and inform them about this. MAYBE then you'll get your fix and *sigh* be able to buy a worthless level 25 gun with real cash.

I didn't say you'd spend 30, but you can drain quite a few of them. There are reasons to use gems other than just because you died from being terrible, you can sub out weapons skills for survival skills and just die a couple times to refill ammo. Regardless of how jaded you are, Capcom has been cleaning up the leaderboards... if not in a particularly fast fashion. So saying you'll never reach Top 10 is subjective.

Bragging about what you do in video games is a pointless endeavor.

Really? You certainly seem like you are judging how he spends his money and plays the game. The in game store is a service. He expects it work. Straight forward complaint.

I'm not calling him names or criticizing the way he spends the money, I'm calling the service "dumb" because of what it sells. He's not doing anything *wrong* and he's able to complain the service not working as much as he wants, but as a consumer I'm too in a position to criticize the service as much as I want.

I am honestly interested in what he wants to buy from it, mostly so I can tell to what kind of people this service is even aimed at to begin with since it's obviously not aimed at the standard RE player who would never buy anything from the store. Have you noticed how this is the first thread in MONTHS about this? Shows you how little people around here actually cared about the service to begin with.

Hardly subjective. I repeat, you will never *ever* reach top 10 no matter how hard you try. Do you think this has been happening since Rev 2 came out? No. This is a veeeeeery old thing and it has been happening since RE.NET came out. Call me jaded or whatever you want but proof is on my side.

They haven't done crap about this since all those years ago and they never will because honestly, it's just kinda hard to keep the leaderboards clean in a game that's not even their current flagship title and that's so easy to tinker with on PC. RE6 events are often full of cheaters, just like this game.

I'm not thinking of buying anything at all. I just simply want this function to work as it should. Because I paid money for this product and would like this option to be available as expected. Now I know that some have this option working and others do not. So I'd like to have this matter investigated by Capcom because it'd be good for them to do so out of good customer service.

As for Capcom's employers not bothering to contact me, I don't mind. I could aways make the same post on their company forums or RE.net. But instead of making a fuss (because it's not a paramount thing for me), I'll patiently wait here for a response. If I don't get one, then it's off to Capcom's website forum and/or RE.net for me.
Red Jun 2, 2015 @ 1:16am
I really suggest you to go to Capcom Unity and make the same post there. Capcom employees are *far* more active over there than around here. You will 100% not going to get an official response around here and you'll just waste your time waiting for one.

The RE.net forums are kinda without supervision too but even there there's more capcom activity than around here.

Often times when you don't hear about something on steam forums is because it is working as intended.

As always, your sunny disposition is so infectous. Keeping it positive. That said, Capcom has been removing people from the boards with suspect times. I doubt that it is really that hard to put some kind of anti-cheat into this game... but your point is valid, Capcom hasn't done crap, not due to difficulty, just due to pure laziness.

Can you blame me though? You have to beat the cheaters in the top 20 to 30 which is outright impossible. Capcom removes one cheater from the leaderboards and three more appear, and the guy who was banned will come back by just using steam family sharing.

Even RE6, which has VAC, has zero protection whatsoever and people never get VAC banned by it.

seriously??? why are you harping on the samething. there is nothing there in the store that you need. it works fine, it`s your game only. if your searching for a refund because you say the store is not working, well good luck with that...it is not going to happen...it has to be something on your end, dont know what country you hail from cause your just another level zero complaining....so funny, hidden accounts that need help.
