The struggle.
It seems extremely hard to beat on survival. There is no normal difficulty for some reason and I'm too proud to lower it to casual. I've beaten it till second hunt level (where I met my demise), barely survivng the sewer standoff with 0 rations. Any tips, please?

lol I already made a topic her survival mode is harder than entire raid mode but the trick is to conserve ammo by using the flashlight more. Use the flashlight on the ironhead at the beginning, don't waste ammo on them. Shoot the afflicted if you must, since they are fast and in numbers. Group them up as best you can and throw a firebomb.

Save the molotov for the revenants in the later hunt. The sneaking mission to collect more items is easy, so gather everything. Now on the last hunt, save the RPG. and group the 2 miniboss (barry ep 3 ) and revenants together and fire. That will save you lots of ammo and headaches. I beat it with maybe 15 handgun bullets left and that is me collecting I believe everything.

I didn't even realise there's also ammo shortage. I've finished first standoff with plenty of leftovers. I belive that it gets reset during the next episode, however. It's just hard to survive.

All your ammo counts get carried over to the 2nd hunt. Only the old man ammo gets reset. And believe as much ammo you think you have, you will run really low. so its a balance between using ammo and conserving ammo. So you can have plenty but doesn't mean much if you're dead.

Ok, so I probably had just 9 handgun ammo by the second day, then. I thought that was a reset and I had more ammo.

Campaign skills purchased using BP will work in The Struggle.

Use your crowbar and torch as often as possible against the Afflicted. Ditch the torch when you get to the fishing village and find a new weapon.

Shoot Vulcanblubber (fat guy that shoots fireballs) in the butt. This makes them flinch more often than headshots.

Save fire bottles for Revenants.

Don't spend too long controlling Evgeny. Moira, when under the AI's control, does not regenerate health. Evgeny can't die but will be incapacitated if he takes too much damage and Moira will have to go and rescue him.

Since you'll spend most of your time in control of Moira, give Evgeny all your tourniquets and disinfectants. If he's close he'll use them on you when you need them.

When facing a Dhurlga (Revenant with tentacles) tell Moira to wait and place her somewhere far away. Use Evgeny to knife it to death from behind. If it gets close to Moira, switch back and move her. Dhurlga will not retaliate often and can only incapacitate Evgeny.

Removing a Dhurlga's tentacles will make it faster and more aggressive.

Melee all the Rotten in the second part of the mine. Make one of the characters wait at the start of the level so they don't waste ammo shooting them.

In the third stage of the mine, In the building where Barry first fought a Dhurlga, there's a rocket launcher. Save it for the two Dhurlga that appear at the end.

Pretty much this. After I got my ass kicked for a couple of times, I decided to play like a absolute hoarder. I ran around in circles only using flashlight unless getting swarmed or fighting the firebomb minibosses at early stages.

During the sneaking stage at the fishing village, I changed my flashlight to the assault rifle, dropped my handgun (low on ammo) for magnum and started hunting down everything in the village. It took me all my rations since I suck at sneaking but I finally got everything. As a result, I went into the final stage with 5 firebombs, 6 explosive bombs, 1 decoy bomb, nearly 20 magnum rounds, nearly 200 assault rifle rounds, 40+ shotgun shells and 9 green herbs. And you can guess the result.

Also one tiny tip on mission retries, if you are low on rations and don't want to start over from the beginning, when you about to fail or already in the failed screen (not sure about the latter thought), just alt F4, restart the game and hit continue. You will start at the beginning of the very stage you were in (acting like a free ration).

Reading all of that makes me think that there's nothing wrong with going casual, since I didn't ace the campaign for precious BPs anyways.

Finished it on survival with the starting Handgun and double barrelled Hunting Shotgun. (Plus Flashlight that I still had for some reason...)
I completely botched the stealth in the fishing village. So that's where you find the magnum and assault rifle then is it? Damn, was wondering why I was getting ammo for them in the last 'quarry' map yet couldn't find the actual guns =(

Wasn't too bad, rocket launcher at the end helped with one of the Dhurlga's.
Important to know that the 'Unholstered' skill will still make Evgeny use up Rifle ammo when he's passively firing, however when taking active control of him, Moira passively shooting *won't* waste her ammo. I took advantage of that a bit and switched her to the Double barreled shotgun fairly often (I tried with the rocket launcher too, she never decided to fire :P)

Nice little side mission.
I don't play much Raid but are people really saying that this was harder than it? Kind of makes me lose motivation to go give that a go if it's not going to be as challenging or on-par to the amount of fun this was.

survival wasnt that hard, just do the first two areas well, then skip the second hunting ground. Its just a ration eater. for the last part against all the revenants, keep alive those damn ranged ones and run back and forth let there crap smack the revenants chasing you

The vast variety of skills kind of kills the challenge of raid. If you don't use any skills, or at least don't level them up, then it's much harder.

where you must go in village,i have no idea how to finish this part and they always see me

So I just beat the Struggle for the first time, with an A on Survival. I finished with over 100 pistol, AR, and MP rounds left, with some even in the 200s. I used all my magnum ammo and had 1 or 2 explosive and firebomb bottles left, used 2 decoy bottles, and didn't even use the rocket launcher. One tip is whenever you are about to finish a mission, give Moira as many of Evgeny's rifle ammo as she can fit in her inventory before an area ends. Since Evgeny's ammo resets and Moira doesn't, Evgeny will get a full fifty and then he will also get whatever extra ammo Moira was holding onto. Also, try to master the Revenant scavenger mission because I couldn't even use the Evgeny ammo strategy with how many herbs and how muchammo I had for my MP, Pistol, AR, and Magnum. I even had to give Evgeny some of the ammo. Another good tip is to use Evgeny's rifle to do the first hunting mission to conserve Moira's ammo and also use it to kill projectile enemies in the final mission and have Moira wait in a safe place. It is also good for destroying Revenant weapon arms and for destroying their weak points.

heres how i did it if your going for S rank only get 3 rations and focus on gathering ammo.

second in the second level start with controlling the old guy and use his rifle as much as possible.

third on the third level sneak up and kill all revenants exept the one of the beach if you get spotted retry.

lastly on the final level if you got any smoke bombs then save em for the freaking durgas surprisingly enough you can backstab em then unload on their exposed backs.
remeber theres no reason to use a flashlight on the last level or the handgun drop em for the AR and MAG

remeber use old man as often as possible because how he recharge his ammo if at the end of a level he still has ammo take it for yourself so you can give him it next level

As someone stated earlier; if you have the skill that allows your partner to fire ammo without using up your ammo, it is best to play as Evengy and let Moira use your most powerful weapon. She will use which ever weapon she had out when you swapped form her.

I haven't played The Struggle on Survival yet, but in my playthrough of the easy version I left her with the magnum and she was blowing monsters away without using any ammo.

Save as much sniper rifle ammo and Molotov as you can in the first three stages (I had 8x rifle ammos and 4 Molotov in the last stage).

In the last stage (the mine), the 2nd wave is 32 zombies. You don't need to move Moira, because she is on the second floor, zombies cannot climb up the ladder to hit her, so it is pretty safe to leave her alone, although there maybe some zombies respawning near her, but it is still safer up there. Use the old man to knife them all, since he could regenerate health, just run until he becomes full health when he is dangerous.

For the last wave, you will need to kill 20 monsters including revenants and Dhurlga, deal with the revenants and neglect those on the rooftop (this is important!), go into the house if you feel the outside is dangerous. After you killed all the revenants, no more enemies will be respawned until you kill the monsters on the rooftop. Now you can move Moira into the house, and use the oldman to collect the resources. After collecting all the resources, kill the monsters on the rooftop. This will trigger the respawn of new monsters, but these monsters will not head for Moira if she is inside the house and you can use the old man to kill them all. Again you don't need to kill those monsters on the rooftop until the very last, just run around the cargo and deal with the revenants and Dhurlga.

There are few advantages: The sniper rifle has a high fire power, you can kill revenants in two shots if you are lucky; his health regenerates at a fast rate and he will not recieve a killing blow from Dhurlga (probably, I didn't receive any killing blow while playing), he is much tougher than Moira.

And I would suggest you to save some Molotov for the last wave (when the enemies decreased to 6), because there will be 2 Dhulgas and 4 revenants, you can use the Molotov to kill the revenants instantly and burn the tenacles of Dhulgas.
