Need to know slots, but would definitely consider Reaper for faster leveling and Lifesteal for obvious reasons. Long range tag means adding another long range mod, vice versa with short range.

With 6 slots i'd go Lifesteal, Reaper, Long/Short range, Final shot/Damage up (your call), electric ammo, shocked enemy damage amplifier.

Switch out lifesteal if you don't care about that / are pretty quick on your feet for the other option of final shot / damage up, and switch out reaper for either elite damage or stars.

Charge can work but since you're maining a single weapon type, you won't always have the luxury of charging up on the go.

Skill passives would be straightforward but require some investment as well. Crouch power being one of the best options available as well as magnum mastery and evade cancel to deal with slow magnum recovery times. Rest is entirely up to you :)

Oh and if you do get a status damage amplifier mod, be sure to take the coresponding bottle as well for quickly dropping multiple elites.

You don't need anything else than magnum mastery for a magnum fast lvl build. Just equip greedy/soul reaper and grind 4:4 on vh. Until lvl ~60 you'll need ll after that you start one shotting them.

You don't need any elemental at all but long range/damage is a must.

And for anything else than fast lvl builds magnum only is not really good because even if you're maxed with scavenger and magnum you'll run out of ammo in the higher populated maps. It's just a build for quick lvl until ep3 hits in a few hours.

Depends if you plan to max out magnum mastery. at 20/20 you can carry a total of 44 mag rounds excluding whats in the gun you start with and with maxed out scavenger you have a 40% chance per kill to get your shot back.

Ammo crates count for 6 per pickup, so all in all you could go that route if you oneshot everything.

Prolonged firefights are a bad idea however, since having to shoot things more than twice really puts the drain on ammo for it.

Also forgot to mention piercing in my previous post. Works wonders on magnums as well.

Overall if you're having doubts about whether or not to go magnum straight away, you can opt for shotties instead. It's kind of the in between option where loads of ammo meets actual damage.

THIS! :) Shotguns in this game are really great. You can use them as a anytime weapon if at least at 5/20...

Later on with full burst, focus, closed range(41%+) and maxed ammo it can even make your magnum obsolete. If you maxed them after magnum just take one with normal stats and a second one with full burst etc. for elites.

Atm I can just 1 shot everything which is a threat with my drake while having 14x(12 hard elites) ammo as backup. ;)

Keep in mind that you can equip multiple magnums too, so you don't necessarily need to limit your selection of parts. You could have an Anaconda set up with long range mods, and maybe a 2005M or 329 for faster-firing close-range stuff, one of which could have a life steal. Another benefit of doing this is that each magnum will start with its own ammo, increasing your total pool slightly. It could also help if you're doing a Last Shot setup with two separate revolvers -- shoot, reload one bullet, swap, repeat.

Even if you don't have enough parts for four guns, you can always just setup one or two and carry the extra magnums just as backup. Disclaimer: I haven't actually tried this so there's a possibility I could be wrong on something, but I have carried multiple guns of the same type before.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Charge Shot works on magnums, unless there's a different type other than A and B. It'd probably be pretty overpowered if you could use those. If you want the pinpoint accuracy of magnums on a shotgun though, max out a Focus mod and slap it on a TAP shotgun. Even out to its max range (which admittedly isn't that far), you can hit with all pellets on a headshot. You have to aim using the little dot, and it's almost TOO accurate since I end up missing up close sometimes. I might downgrade it to lv2 or 3 instead, but some folks might like it.

There is, in fact, a Charge Shot C. Which is usable by magnums (only?)

Personally I'm using a disgustingly OP bosskiller of a magnum.

Lv. 95 Basilisk (named Anaconda)
43218 firepower with mods
0.75 fire rate
6 capacity
5 slots

Lv. 12 Damage (+27%)
Lv. 6 Close Range (max +41%)
Lv. 6 Ice Ammo (84% occurence)
Lv. 5 Frostbite (+35%)
Lv. 6 Elite Killer (+26%)

With the current fire rate it fires just quick enough to get in another bullet before the freeze effect wears off, adding an almost direct 35% damage boost as well as slowing down enemies on almost each shot (I assume the proc chance will be 100% at lv. 10 judging by the current increase per lv.). I'm using Ice Ammo solely for the bonus of slowing down fast moving bosses like Scagdead, Durga and elite Executioner Majinis) to keep me safe while strafing backwards close range, making full use of Close Range while getting accurate, precise head/critical shots.

If I find another magnum with high damage and 6 slots, I'm changing out Elite Killer for lv. 5 Anti-Recoil and Full Burst. Which I've tried before, and is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane. Empties a magnum clip within 2 seconds with 0 recoil.
