haven't played for a long time, but afaik the best area to farm rainbow guns is VIII-6 (where you fight mutated Neil). rocket-launcher, grenades, lv90+ helps to finish that level under a minute. all treasure chests are located in close proximity
/this
Technically, you could go for V-3 (?) as well. Just open all chests from the start and if there is something worty in them, play the rest. Downside is, that it'll take much longer to finish, thanks to the slow spawning times.
Drop rates are absurdly bad when it comes to this. Over the entire play in raid mode, I've found 2(!) Rainbows and and about 20 Purples.
Out of boredom a pal and myself played stage VIII-6 exactly 125 times and noted, what we've found. (4 chests each run = 500 chests per player = 1000 chests combined)
And out of combined 1000 chests he got 1 Rainbow while I got none. Didn't even get a single AMR. Even Purples were less then a dozen. But what I found even more annoying is, that even if you get a Purple/Rainbow Drop, it still can be rather bad. Like a rare tag but with only 4 slots etc.
1. Try 5-6 times, if you get a colour weapon (at least Blue), then keep going your try. As some types of weapons can be level 100 even it's blue. So you might get into a good cycle to obtain more useful weapons.
2. Level 100 weapons can be Blue, Red, Purple and rainbow colours. If after trying 5-6 times, you get nothing, then quit the game (I mean really quit the game), then restart it. So now you will do the same thing as point 1 & 2.
3. If you are lucky to obtain a red, purple or rainbow weapon, do another 5-6 or even more times, you might get another purple or rainbow weapons.
4. Never like an idiot to try 20, 30, 40 or even more times but get useless weapons and parts.
Play an album or two from a band/singer you like
Farm like crazy on Stages that let you check all four stages right away.
Kill a couple of guys so you don't end up losing 5000 Gold on each try.
If there's nothing Rainbow/Purple, or custom parts that interest you, exit stage and try again.
Once album ends quit and try next day.
That's what I did during weeks to finally obtain some good enough weapons (not all were rainbow). Stopped farming once my loadout was good enough to take on Level Restricted Challenges at level 1, and Weekend Survivor clear, obtained the rest of my final loadout as rewards from those events.
there are?
I know about better drop table for Revelations 1, but there is another one for Revelations 2 ? damn, I wasted so much time on that bs (and afaik never got anything good at all) =/
