Can anyone run this on an Intel HD 620?
I'm thinking about purchasing it but was afraid of the performance, so I downloaded it via other means to make sure it would run on my laptop, and although the framerates seem to be between the 30-45 fps range, there are crazy stutters while walking around, even with all the settings set to low. Anyone has this problem? This doesn't seem to happen to anyone else with my GPU on YouTube

hello,

to start with - that game is a terrible (and really flawed) port. performance is all over the place and players even with a decent rig struggle to make it running without any spikes or lags - so no wonder you have random stutters

I am not sure Intel HD 620 is enough for that game to be true and I expect beyond subpar performance

aside from setting everything to low, also disable vsync - it seems that game has lots of issues with vsync being on

there is a well-known fix for a slower PCs that boosts FPS and mitigates some performance issues, worth a try too

Yes it can, back to 2014 i play this game on Intel HD graphics 2500 (it has only 128 mb of ram) and i was able to play, all on low and 800x600

I see, I think if I could make the stuttering stop, it would be playable, granted the FPS is fine until there's a sudden freeze. I'm just not sure what's causing it, because benchmarks on YouTube don't have this stutter fest. I downloaded the demo for Revelations and it ran fine at 60 fps, and the 3 Remake ran with an average of 20-25 fps as long as I use interlaced textures and 80% rendering. It ran better than 2 I guess

Damn, the download link there is no longer available :( I have a pretty strong PC (Intel i7-7700, Nvidia GTX 1050, and 8GB RAM) yet this game runs worse than RE2 remake.

From what I've read this game funnels lots of resources into your CPU instead of the GPU. Even people with i7s have complained about 80% of CPU usage by this game alone. It's just the engine of the game.
Aside from that, take into account that SOME games downloaded "by other means" tend to tax your computer more than the "orthodox" downloads for several reasons.

I have a mediocre PC (i5, 2gb dedicated GPU) and this game runs fine for me (once I lowered the settings). No stuttering. But I've read some people with higher end computers that never found a solution.

I'm aware that some games are poorly optimized for different engines. One example is Metro 2033, I can run the Redux smoothly, but the original stutters so bad. Which is weird, since Redux is a remaster and should be heavier.

By the way, I seem to have found a smoother way to run it. I tried "forcing" the game to use my GPU like I did for both Bloodrayne games and made a guide about it https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2299793914. It performs noticeably better, still kinda lag at times tho but nowhere near as bad as before.

Why would you activate V-Sync? V-Sync enables all the bad stuff on this game (Like missing dialogues, glitches, game crashes and unplayeable final boss on episode 4 Barry).
