Can you get rid of the "film grain"? Also, framerate fixes?

I remember playing this on console, and now playing on PC, I realize...that "Film grain" effect they use? Really don't care for it. Is there a way to disable it?

On that note, I'm noticing a lot of "stuttering" when playing on a lower-end machine, especially after the game finishes loading something in, even after locking the framerate to 30. Are there any known tweaks for this game that can take the edge off of this? (I also suspect this may be because of said film grain effect, in part)

As for the stuttering. You can try this[community.pcgamingwiki.com] fps fix that also works for Resident Evil HD Remaster. Simply just drop the dll in the game's directory.

Thanks for those. And it's amazing how much smoother it runs just disabling that film grain effect by itself. I don't grasp why that wasn't something Capcom let us disable by default. Same with the RE4 PC port, if I recall...blah.

Edit: Wow, holy crow, I was not aware of the amount of "bad PC port optimization problems" for these Resident Evil games that could be fixed with just one or two files. And Capcom never bothered? Feh.

Capcom is 99% incompetant with their pc ports. That is why. This is common with Japanese devs in particular.

They aren't that hard to install at all. Just follow the instructions on both pages.

Yeah, the film grain mod requires replacing a specific file, and they don't give you a readme with the directory. The other ones mostly just add files right into the game folder.

Set your fps to Variable and turn off V-Sync.

The "fps fix" I provided is just supposed to help prevent stuttering and make the experience better overall. You still need a good PC to be able to run the game properly.

I tried your solution but it didn´t worked. That´s my last part of Resident Evil on PC.
Better Capcom makes games console exclusive. We don´t need their games if they crash and stutter every 5 seconds!

Which solution ? I've played the game for over 80 hours with zero issues after installing both mods.
