BBC?
I guess I don't understand the role of the BBC in this game, not that it seems important in any case. Can someone please explain?

The BBC had a series of web games called Battlefield Academy and these were the inspiration for the original game. The BBC were involved with the design of the game and appointed a historical adviser to ensure we got it right (not that we would have ever done it any other way, but the BBC has to do things this way :) ).

A few years ago EA claimed they owned the word Battlefield and after a legal dispute between them the BBC and us, we renamed the game to Battle Academy.

The deal with the BBC has now expired and they were not involved in Battle Academy 2.

Thanks for the reply! That makes sense now. Do I have this right:

The BBC games were a lot like your Panzer Corps (which in turn resembles older, venerable WWII games), and your Panzer Corps was a lot like the BBC games. Sort of like, you got your Panzer Corps in my Battlefield! You got your Battlefield in my Panzer Corps! - the old Reese's Peanut Butter Cup commercial.

I was wondering why BBC got such credit with Slitherine, when the the game seems a lot like Panzer Corps with new art direction and some educational features. I was wondering if I "suggested" a videogame idea that I could get credit too. Hey Slitherine: make a game about WWII, except it's fought by grocery produce! A couple of years later, Operation Market Garden hits the shelves, and the byline reads: A Slitherine Game As Suggested By Twelvefield. Maybe a picture of me on the box lid, with some sexy ladies draped all around like a James Bond movie poster. But now I see that BBC had a parallel development to yours. Neat!

BBC made a LOT of games to fund the various shows. The Dr. Who game, and they just launched a Top Gear game. Game itself is free, but a ton of in-app purchases to keep the $$$ rolling.

That seems to me very progressive for a television studio.
