SOLVED Can't pick up the weapon from the armory

I cant pick up the weapon from the armory at the beginning from the game after the encounter with hunter. it's manditory to have before you can go on the expedition, but the man just puts it on the table and then i get no promts or anything to pick it up. ive been mashing the interact key all over the place, but no prompt and no weapon. does anyone know how to fix this?
