Linux vsync fixes
If you've turned on vsync in the game, but it's still tearing, then here are three possible solutions:

1. If you're using compiz (ubuntu default, etc) then:
- install compizconfig-settings-manager ('sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager')
- launch CompizConfig Settings Manager, click the 'Composite' section, and uncheck 'Unredirect Fullscreen Windows'

2. If you're using KDE (i.e. Kubuntu), check preferences for "Desktop Effects -- KDE Control Module" in the Advanced tab; and try different options for Tearing Prevention (VSync).

3. If you're using ArchLinux, and/or none of the above helped for you, some people report success with this manual configuration change: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA#Avoid_tearing_with_GeForce_600.2F700_series_cards

If this helps anyone then I'll create a similar thread on the Metro Last Light Redux forum (I don't own it yet, but in theory it's the same engine with the same issues :) ).

This would be a major performance hit.

For mesa drivers changing launch options should work:
vblank_mode=3 %command%
