Knife/Grenade switch

Playing on PC.
Default key inputs.
I cannot switch between knife and grenade.
The game has me permanently on knife.

I hold M to select the lowered Journal, then right click to bring up the clipboard and inventory screen.
I can see the radial to the left and the four different options but I cannot switch.
Pressing the Tab button does nothing. Holding the Tab button does nothing.
Scroll wheel just drops the Journal back to game and only seems to switch between weapons.

Dufuq am I not doing right?

I think I know the issue.
Playing in Ranger Hardcore mode.
I cannot select when I'm actually viewing my inventory. The Tab button will not work when holding it and moving the mouse while on that screen.
Now, while not on that inventory screen I can hold the Tab button and when moving my mouse I can hear a sound indicating the swap but no visual is on the screen to show what I'm changing to.
Kind of stupid to not be able to change while on the inventory screen but I guess I'll need to adjust if I want to continue playing in Ranger Hardcore.

Check you secondary weapon button in the menu for how to throw it. Holding tab and moving the mouse in a cardinal direction is how to swap. No HuD for Ranger mode.

Yeah.
I know how to throw it. Thanks though.
I just think it's a bit ridiculous that I cannot swap in that inventory screen if I want to and not just having to go buy the sound the game perceives for each different item because of no visual indication.
The knife is a fairly straight forward sound but the different pipe bombs......*sigh*
Just have to remember which types are left/down/right.
