Okay guys - I'm not entirely sure when or how, since I never managed to get past the CTD crashes in Chapter 4, Outpost, but when I go into chapters "Black Station", The mission after Outpost is unlocked and playable. "Black Station" is the last mission of chapter 4 and there seems to be no problems with it?
If any of you have not yet reached "Black Station" in Chapter 4 due to same reason as me and now have it unlocked please post! Maybe the Devs have actually done something..
If you don't have it unlocked and for some reason I do now? If you're stuck in Chapter 4 still, reply and I'll send over my save files.
Just checking but you do have a 64Bit operating system ?
Also as FOX.HOUND|G0T0 sais, but at launch I had the same problem and there was a tab to verify pre-load files, don't know if this helps. After I had clicked on that it then started to download the full game files
This is the only game my PC ever crashes on.
In game options:
Adv PhysX: on
Res: 1920x1080
Quality: High
SSAA: Off
Text.Filter: AF 16
Motion blur: Normal
Tesselation: High
V-sync:Off (running Nvidia adaptable sync in Nvidia controlpanel)
Another bug:
It has a tendency to stop the game whenever another steam-game updates and I have to restart it.
DXDIAG:
this!
Emailed DeepSilver, no reply.
I followed this page, maybe it could give others some results.

However, for me, there was no change when i disable all services except windows services.
I don't believe that a unstable windows OS can cause this when I have played 40+ games successfully on this PC, it just seems like an excuse to keep people busy while they work on a fix.
I will be waiting until November before requesting a full refund.
You need 64 bit system to play with the game. If you don't have 64 bit, it will only download 150 mb.
Dear John,
thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Please add this report also to Steam's problem reporting thread. This is where all glitches and technical problems should be reported, since our QA team and the developers from A4 games scan these reports daily. Only glitches reported there, too, have a chance of being corrected through future patches:
http://steamcommunity.com/app/286690/discussions/1/34095684732400438/
We can confirm that other players have also reported similar issues, but we haven't received any feedback from the developers so far. I guess they are still trying to work out why this is happening and how to solve it.
As soon as we receive feedback, we'll let you know.
Note: If you reply to this Email please do not edit the subject line. Thank you!

I have been unable to play Metro 2033 Redux since launch because of certain sections of the game causing my display drivers to crash and sometimes hard lock up my computer regardless of graphic settings. There are many threads on the Steam user forums with many people having the same issue.
I get display driver crashes at specific locations in the game. Some crashes can be worked around by forcing DX10 but I can still run into crashes on DX10 such as the start of Chapter 3: Khan. Even on DX10 there is high chance the game will crash the display drivers as Boubon tries to open the vent.
Sections I found that crash the game.
During the Prologue when you wake in Artyoms' room this section can randomly crash the display driver.
Chapter 2 : The bridge - When you jump over the broken stair case and fight the first wave of Nosalis it can crash here. I got through this section by forcing DX10.
The Bar area of The Market will 100% crash on DX11 no matter the graphic settings. Resolved by forcing DX10 but again can still randomly crash even on DX10. There are strange flickering artifacts when looking at the man gaurding the front door to an office. I have a video of this section that shows the crash in DX11 on the lowest settings and the same section on DX10 with highest settings. As you can see in the second run the strange artifacts are less severe and the game does not crash.

Chapter 3 as khan tries to open the vent.
I have no other problems playing any other games like this. I was even playing original 2033 side by side to compare graphics. I was running original 2033 on very high settings in DX10 at 60 fps with not a single crash. I also had no such crashes playing Last Light.
These crashes are exclusive to Redux.
It should also be noted that there are no display driver crashes when forcing window mode to play the game. But fps isn't as good and I really don't want to play the game in a window.
Is there any acknowledgment to these problems from your selves or 4A games and will there be future patches? Do we have to wait for Linux / Steam OS support for fixes or has support for the game ceased?
