Connot get a ps4 controller to work.

I've done some extensive searching and the most I can fine is solutions in BPM, but nothing works.

Game won't recognise any input from the controller at all and the option to enable the controller in game is not functional. Any solutions?

It can work, you might need an input wrapper. Check the guides or the pcgamingwiki.

if this is to use a ps4 controller on pc then use http://ds4windows.com/ its an epic bit of kit that uses make the pc think ps4 controller is a 360 controller so uses it s drivers.enjoy

So now both thumbsticks act as if they control the camera so I can look but not move. This is infinitely frustrating...

All it does is make the pc think your ps4 controller is an xbox 360 controller.
Check your game supports controller. if it does your good :) Win 7 or below need a driver for xbox 360 controller

Thank you for being so helpful. I still haven't had any luck. No matter what I do for Metro 2033 Redux if I run DS4 both thumbsticks act as camera control except for the left one is all jittery and choppy the right functions as normal. It seems like I'm destined to play Metro with a mouse and keyboard.

Also left and right on the left thumbstick appear to be inverted...

I thought steam BPM worked with DS4 controllers now.

It does. It's just this specific game that has issues. At least for me.
