Yeah, if you holding the normal knife, you can knock them out. If you holding the throwing knife, you can stab them. + you can use throw the knife. This is 3 stealth takedowns.
Before your comment I didn't know about the knock out, I usually use throwing knife, stab, or just simply avoid the guards.
at least they could have given us the original ranger easy from metro 2033.
here's what i think:
in my life, i only had a job where a carried a automatic pistol, no rifles. i could feel the weight of the ammo in the magazine holders on my belt, or just could touch them to know if i had 0,1 or two magazines left.
the ranger easy mode in metro 2033 was the most realistic one. you did and take more damage.you knew if you were holding a throwing knife or a grenade in your hands and you knew about how much ammo you had. appearantly, the ranger mode now where you don't know that ,is considered to be realistic.
i want the game real in a way that i play a soldier who would know that a knife, claymore or grenade feels different or that ammo has weight or you feel a magazine in the pcoket. appearantly, gamerkids today are too dumb for that and thus enjoy not knowing anything.
so i want a mode where i play a soldier in a survival world, not a 2014 dumb gamerkid in a future survival mode (because they'd be dead in that world with so much lack of sense and intelligence)
i thought those discussions were about ranger hardcoe (well, the problem there is the same) but i thought at least ranger normal would be like in the original 2033. and it's such a silly details, feels like abug. usually, you could solve an issue like that with a mod or editing the config file.
but a company that wants money for a new difficulty can'T be expected to make the game modable or offer help with just freely editing those settings. the redux version goes to my lsit of shame games in the steam library after playing it for 20 minutes
i changed two commas for you. should i split it into post of no more than 140 characters each? would that be less frightening to you?
you can feel it in reality and can'T in a videogame, that'S what an UI should be replacing.
But thanks to a friendly user who contacted me and pointed out you can check ammo via the questlog (i usually don't use that, mobody seems to care about the magic compass being unrealistic)
so, in short, i am stupid and take back a part of my complaint about not being able to tell how much ammo i have. don'T know if that is also possible in ranger hardcore
This! I have to agree. Couldn't said it better myself

i agree. i thought after rome 2 total war i was finally wise enough to never pay for anything i haven'T tested before.
speaking of that, the redux aint compeletely bug free. some bugs might be annoying.
