Ran out of filters... game over
No filters left, about 75% of the way through the game. Don't want to go all the way back to when filters were for sale, so I'll just stop here and move on to Last Light Redux. (Playing both for the first time.)

Protip: Invest heavily in filters if you like to explore levels thoroughly and ALSO want to finish this game.

I keep hearing about people running out of filters. I honestly don't know why. Only 1 level provides a very limited amount of filters, that's Outpost. I played through the entire game in Survivor mode rhc difficulty and had plenty of filter time on every other level. People just need to learn how to be observant. There are literally filters almost everywhere on almost every level that requires filters. Even the library and D6 are filled with filter stashes.

I played Ranger Hardcore and had absolutely no problem with filters or ammo for that matter. Don't just run through the level, look around.
Where are you up to? Don't be shy to ask for help

I played Ranger Hardcore and never had problems either. Actually, I remember it being a lot harder before than it is now.

As RIOTStalkermaster said, tell us where you're at. People will help.

Filters aren't hard to find, its generally worth your while to look in nooks and crannies. You'll soon realise there is generally abit of a pattern to where stuff will usually turn up and you can predict with general accuracy that something may be in certain areas as you go looking about...

I am currently up to the part where you do the fight from the Prologue and have 0 filters. Are there filters there when they surround you?.

Good luck with Last Light, it has more and much longer surface levels, in rows most of the time. :P

Anyway, I constantly see players keep complaining about this. Still no idea why... As for me I completed all metro games, several times, on all difficutly, and I have never ever run out of filters or ammo. You play it totally wrong, thats all. You have to keep searching, all the time, not just when you see you almost run out.

You can find more than enough filters if you walk with open eyes and look around just a little. + You can buy at some stations as well. But I usually don't even bother buying, because what I find is enough. Sometimes I can't even pick them up, because I reached the max!!! I don't even rush, I take my time, look around, sneak past the guards, watch as they talk, ect, and still enough! So what the hell is wrong with you guys? Seriously, this is a linear game, you basically walk in corridors, and still you can't see the tons of filters on your way? At least don't blame the game for your own damn fault.

They aren't accustomed to searching for supplies in a game that feels similar to a slow-ish multiplayer shooter.

Yeah. Never mind. I just replaid the D6 chapter and walked out with like 10 minutes worth of filters. I'll remember to look around more in Last Light

I survived that problem twice lol, after the library sections and d6. Barely survived by putting the mask on and off with the limited filter and trying to find any left around.
Its a linear game. Why should I explore to allow my progression? This pisses me off.

Filters are plentiful, I usually start the last chapter with enough military grade bullets to last the entire chapter even on the lowest difficulty and never run out of filters. Just scavenge.
