Metro Redux is UNREAL in 3D Vision
Just purchased Metro Redux a few hours ago. 3d Vision takes this game to a WHOLE another level. Played vanilla Metro back in the day and enjoyed it but this game in 3d......WOW.

Just make sure to unlock convergence in the config file. Game has convergence locked but unlock it and tighten things up and it gets amazing. Here's how:

unlock convergence:
C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\4A Games\Metro 2033\...\user.cfg
If you have Last Light:
C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\4A Games\Metro Last Light\...\user.cfg
then
1. add: r_dbg_stereo_auto_separation 0
2. make user.cfg read only

For those who havent experienced Nvidia 3d vision.....simply....if you are a gamer you should. I run a i5 3570k and a single 780gtx and can run every game in 3d vsion optimally.

Purchased 3d vision several months ago and in my 25 years of gaming probably the biggest gaming upgrade ever. It is freakin amazing in its immersion in games.

I have a 3d monitor (VG248QE) I just don't have a 3d vision kit or SLI (single card gamer here) so it wouldn't run well for me anyway.

I wanted this monitor just for the 1MS response time and 144hz refresh rate in normal mode.

I find that 3D vision is ok as a gimmick but can only watch or play in 3D for 2 hours at the most without it causing a great amount of eye fatigue. Put it on and impress your friends and family but for long gaming sessions in impractical.

I have ZERO problems playing in 3d for many hours. Some weekends I will play in 3d for 8-10 hours in a day. And no, it is definitely not a gimmick. Almost everyone one that has the 3d vision kit loves it. People that I know that have it will only play games in 3d period. I think some people see 3d better than others? Dont know... but for me and others it rocks.

I would rather be enjoying it with the unofficial Oculus Rift profile.

On that note, Does anyone know how well that works in metro btw? I know unnofficial oculus ports are generally prone to motion sickness problems and other such issues, but I am curious if anyone has used the Oculus on the metro games and can comment.

EDIT: And yes, apparently people have gotten it to work in metro, im just wondering how well.

I have the same Asus monitor you do. It ROCKS in 3d btw. I'm also a single card user, 780gtx. Many 3d gamers are single cards. If you get a 680 or above, you are good to go.

Not to necro a rather old post, but I'm curious as to your extent of unlocking and familiarity with understanding and using convergence and depth settings. The reason I ask is, I've had a 3d vision 1 and 2 set, trying and owning monitor fully compatible with both, and I've found that in my humble opinion, if you're experiencing eye fatigue before mental fatigue (from a stimulative overload, very fast paced games or 3d vision can set this on a lot quicker) than you've not set up your convergence and depth appropriately. Also were you using a 3d vision 2 set, 55fps+? etc.

I bought the original Metro 2033 and had an option to play it in 3D which I selected from the graphics menu in-game without switching on Nvidia 3D vison emulation. This option is missing from the Redux version I purchased. Have I missed something or can I only play it in 3D by enabling the Nvidia emulation?
