I dunno. I feel like the game is incredibly hard to mod. Not a single gameplay mod in existence. Apparently none of the Metro games have mod support. Just that one guy who hacked his way into Exodus map.
Hell, I'd be happy with just a mod that increases spawns. The gunplay and atmosphere is too good to be wasted on such a linear and short-lived adventure.
Have not paid much attention to Exodus. Weird that despite the SDK there are so few gameplay mods. The database there is but a fragment of other popular games.
It seems like the modding process is much more involved with these types of games. Apparently there was no documentation supplied with the SDK. So likely not all that accessible.
I would have already downloaded it if I had a "real" internet connection lol.
It's so bizarre that they didn't do more with the franchise. The atmosphere, gunplay and storytelling are imo top-notch and well-suited to more freeform game design.
The game has such a good foundation and with all the potential to create a stunning stalker-like FPS-RPG-Survival game. Very likely a design philosophy conducive to building lasting communities as seen with Fo4/Stalker.
Kind of wasteful when you think about it. I feel the same way about Bioshock. Great games taking a highly cyclical approach to development, yet none of it stays relevant. No continuity to be found.
