try both, depending upon which difficulty you're playing under it could be difficult for you (for me on the highest Hardcore Ranger in Stealth) but it's always fun to play with a rumble force-feedback controller (pref XBOX One, IMO better than XBOX 360 design not just because it's "newer")

I agree with Shiro. Controller if you want to play more casual. If you're player higher difficulties, might want to switch for a keyboard/mouse, because you have to make every bullet count, can't miss.

It's a FPS-game, so mouse and keyboard obviously.

It depends on what controller. I am playing Hardcore with the Steam controller and it works really nice. Actually, I just beat the 6 challenges in the market shooting range. So I would say a Steam controller or K&M if you are going for something like Survival Hardcore Ranger since it requires a lot of precise aiming, ammo conservation, and stealth.

Now as everyone else says if you are going for a more casual experience an Xbox controller should do fine.
