Lurkers
The Lurkers are a royal pain in the posterior. I'm on Chapter called "Defense" and these little Lurkers keep popping out of holes and killing me. I'm low on rifle ammo and the shotgun isn't doing the job as they always seem to get an attack in before I can kill them - they're so fast.

Do these little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s infinitely spawn or is there a set number of them? I'm sick and tired of the little creeps and fighting the monsters in general. Fighting the human characters is much more fun.

Any helpful suggestions appreciated. Thank you.

Running away and searching areas quickly is the best option. Having said that, is not always feasible. The lurkers (the small ones) do not do a great deal of damage per hit. I found that crouching to get to their level and using knife worked quite well for doing them in. Now mind you, the knife mechanic in redux is different than original metro 2033....

There is actually a limit in each area for the number of luckers you'll encounter. You can kill them all. When you hear them, get to a corner or room so they can't get behind you, then fire at will. Sprinting (and maybe jumping) also makes it harder for them to hit you. You will find a great gun against the lurkers halfway through... if you look for it :metromask:

Lurkers are my least favorite part of this game. I just sprint through that part every time

And then you get the animated death scene because you fell in one of the holes and have to watch one eat you alive!

These things suck. Honestly the entire game isn't as good as I remember it to be but this cheap crap of trying to avoid 20+ rats just to explore a single room over and over, burning through medkits and shotgun shells gets on my nerves. This isn't scary, it's forced progression.
