I bought the game (both times) when it was not on sale, so if there's a sell for it, definitely go ahead beacuse it's simply remarkable experience. The atmosphere is what I love about these games the most, it really gets to you. You can also really choose how you want to play and adapt the game to your playstyle - either go Survival mode (less action, no shooting, scarce ammunition and other tools) or Spartan mode (the opposite of Survival, turns the game into more of a FPS game).
If you like decisions which affect the story, you also get to do variety of things in both games that decide which ending you get.
Long story short; Redux version has next to none bugs, no crashes or glitches (at least from my experience), it has also improved graphics.
Btw, would be cool if you added me so that we can discuss the game whenever you feel like it, I'm also eager to chat with somebody new to the game
I played only the orignal versions of these two games but none the less they were a fine FPS. And with a very good story to boot I think.
