Question: Should I buy the Metro Redux bundle (on sale 75% off)?
I'm totally new to the Metro series and its universe (never played any release before). Currently the bundle for both Metro 2033 and Last Light, Redux version is on sale for $8.24 (Canadian price). I know these games gathered a lot of fantastic reviews with a cult following but I also saw plenty of reports about bugs and crashes. Gameplay-wise, the atmospheric setting intrigues me, and I don't mind the linear story or anything. Can anyone give some idea on should I make the purchase or not?

TL;DR Metro newbie, concerned about bugs and crashes, but interested in the games.

I can say only the best about the game. I first played Metro 2033, the non-redux version and it was great already - redux just makes everything better. I have Metro 2033 and Last Light on my other, old account and I just had to get it again on this new account. That's how much the game is worth getting, lol.
I bought the game (both times) when it was not on sale, so if there's a sell for it, definitely go ahead beacuse it's simply remarkable experience. The atmosphere is what I love about these games the most, it really gets to you. You can also really choose how you want to play and adapt the game to your playstyle - either go Survival mode (less action, no shooting, scarce ammunition and other tools) or Spartan mode (the opposite of Survival, turns the game into more of a FPS game).
If you like decisions which affect the story, you also get to do variety of things in both games that decide which ending you get.

Long story short; Redux version has next to none bugs, no crashes or glitches (at least from my experience), it has also improved graphics.
Btw, would be cool if you added me so that we can discuss the game whenever you feel like it, I'm also eager to chat with somebody new to the game :steamhappy:

Not a bad way to spend less then 10$. These were cool games, even made me explore the book by Dmitry Glukhovsky which has been translated to English and was pretty cool!

I played only the orignal versions of these two games but none the less they were a fine FPS. And with a very good story to boot I think.

Thanks for the replies, tbh with the reputation the Metro series got, $9 is a nice steal. I've always been a fan of FPS with cool story to begin with and just needed some validation of the game from the players.
