Church base - CTD when replenishing filters

It only occurs in the ranger church base. Everytime I try to replenish my filters the game crashes to desktop. Basically it ruined my playthrough: although I tend to scour the area for any filters I'm stuck without O2 at the middle of the D6 mission, during the scene when that idiot Uhlman tells a joke on the radio and while everybody stands still and laughs I'm running circles trying to catch my breath - and dying horribly, listening to their laughter.

Then I remember that those 3 additional filters I had to skip at the church base would have saved my life.

Does it occur to anybody else?

I must get onto the rotating elevator with one of those idiots you mentioned to get to the lower part of the building to start up some generator. thing is i dont have filters and there are none to be found in this D6 level. so going on the elevator means dying on it. on the last station i couldnt buy filters or med kits. i suppose i have to play this f*** level from start :( when is it safe to take off the mask is unclear to me as well.

Dude there are tons of filters at D6. open your eyes.
Also this guy called Vladimir gives you weapons some cartridges and filters for free.

If you are still running out of air just pull the mask on and off the whole time. Artyom can run arround half a minute without air. It is a nice little exploit.

How about reloading the level by choosing it out of the chapter-menu?

Dude, learn to read before posting. The problem is that I get a CTD everytime I take those free filters at the church.

I wasn't crashiing the Church but I was dying in about the same spot in D6 becuse of a lack of filters. My solutiion was too go back and replay the two Library chapters as quickly as I could (wasted a lot of filters trying to find the route there) - even without the filters from the Church I think I would have had enough (survival, hardcore) to make it through D6. Make sure you grab all you can when going through it, there are 3 or 4 orange boxes to raid.

But OBELIX:) had a hard time getting filters, so i was replying to him and you might try the exploit. I know its annoying but works fine. Just make sure you have for 1-2 minutes left when you are down at the reactorcore.

Since I first started playing the first game originally upon release, I was always able to buy myself some time here and there by removing the gas mask. It can take a good 15 secs or so before u die. When u have the timing down, just take it off/on as needed to help buy yourself a little extra time.

As for CTD, I can't explain it. I wish they'd fix it. 2033 Redux crashes at random, while Last Light Redux runs all day without such issue.

My game crashes also, no error message. Just game shuts down and im back to desktop

Yeah, it does crash randomly, but it crashes ALWAYS for me whenever I get those damn filters from Vladimir.

I guess i used up my filters in places where i shouldnt. And i do search ever corner and try to climb onto or under everything to find stuff but i found nothing. BTW When the game depicts you to go left or right you should never listen and you shall be rewarded) i also watched the walkthru but i dont seem to have missed any filter.
So like you said i tried to restart this level over and take off the mask more often (as a workaround) but sadly i crash to desktop. In general this game is a bit disapointing and very limited in many ways. im trying the next part

I got same issue with filters from Vladimir...when I wanna take it METRO is crash and win text me Nvidia drivers stop working... :( I have win 8.1 64bit
How u fix this problem Buddy?

I started the last light serie since the other one crashes and playing it from where i left off means die of amonia. but now im also fed up with this game. again the filters run out at the marsh land while battling the giant shrimp, yes i found a couple filters on corpses and all but it is maxed out at 1 minute and you have to use 8 nades and truckloads of bullets to kill the shrimp. and then i die of acute astma while the forced cutscene plays. (dont get me started on those cutscenes) on the silly railtrack with the car i could use the trick with putting the mask on and off but as we all know in a shrimpfight you cant do that. and avoid bricks that are 10 inch high because you cant jump those! p.s. why does every "person" in this game looks like there lubricated? shiny skins reflective surfaces? or is it my GTX770 ? am i ranting? am i flaming? no, im uninstalling.

I had the same problem and I fixed it! Put on your gas mask before picking them up and it works like a charm!
