Changing the Field of View
Locating the Desired Configuation Files

1)\Users\username\AppData\Local\4A Games\Metro 2033 Redux\user.cfg

Edit this file by using something like Notepad++

Use Control + F to bring up the search function and look for "fov"

This uses vertical field of view so use this calculator to get your desired fov.

for anyone wondering: 60 degrees FOV is considered 'comfortable' by a lot of people
I linked a calculator within my post to convert your desired field of view but yes for standard 1920x1080 monitors an FoV of 59-60 is equivalent to 90 horizontal.

the calculator recomended me 65 fov but it looks like ♥♥♥♥ , 60 is "better"

The only thing I have in my 4A folder is the old Metro 2003 and LL... Don't have Redux

You would think that after 1 year in development again, there would be time for a FOV slider.

Its like they dont understand, i mean i know cars in Russia and stuff dont have a speedometer. and such. But for some people that kinda information is important. Same with FOV slider :P

Whats ironic is the game looks worse with low fov because your so zoomed in. So why would you do that ?.

I don't really care wether there is a slider or not, but why can't I find the folder to edit the config? Did they remove it?!

I had the same issue. The game was downloaded on steam but I am running it through Nvidia Geforce Experience (fixes SLI and other issues).

SOLUTION:

\Users\username\AppData\Local\4A Games\Metro 2033\1100001016660e1\user.cfg

Do the same thing. Open the file with notepad. Press CTRL + F and search for FOV. Change the value to 60, 65, or any other preference. Then click on file then click save. If you get a message saying file is read only, right click on the file “user.cfg”, click on properties, on the General tab under attributes, make sure “read only” is checked OFF.

Hope this helps!

For anyone that is having problems trying to navigate to the Metro 2033 Redux folder; make sure you have "Show hidden files, folders and drives" enabled.
