You can suppress the AK-47. What's the issue?

AK-74

I always preferred AKS-74u as it reloads and draws faster. It can be suppressed as well, no secret here.

This mentions the silencer: http://metrovideogame.wikia.com/wiki/Modified_Russian_Rifle_(AKS-74U)

According to all google searches and weapon databases the original Kalash on metro 2033 redux cannot be suppressed, however i found one on a dead guy just after black station, and no one seems to acknowledge this. everything just says that the Kalash is not able to have a supressor in the first one. Its just bugging me lol

I'm using a suppressor right now... What are you talking about?

"The Kalash has the second lowest fire rate of the group and moderate accuracy. This weapon lacks a silenced version, which makes it useless for stealth. If your playstyle is being subtle, consider getting the VSV as your primary weapon." this was taken off of http://metrovideogame.wikia.com/wiki/Kalash_(AK-74M). I found a suppressed version also. Thats why It was bugging me because it says you cant get a suppressor until last light.

"In the sequel the AK-74M has become one of the most, if not the most, versatile weapons in the player's arsenal thanks to the new attachment system. This time around it can accept a silencer which makes it invaluable for stealth. It can also accept Reflex, IRNV and 2x optical sights, making it useful for both close and long range combat, as well as additional attachments, including an extended 45 round RPK-styled magazine, and laser designator, useful for ranger difficulties." taken from same page under the last light version

I would guess that is referencing the non-Redux version of the game.
The Redux version has the suppressor, I just loaded it up to check my memory, and there it is available for sale in Polis.
I didn't play the original Metro 2033, however a lot of the changes made to the Redux version where backported from Last Light, so I assume this is one of them.

Yea it would have to be, thats the only logical explanation lol. I never actually bought one, So I never checked the attachments myself. The main thing I was wondering was maybe if that was a unique pickup or something. Like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the mythical Kalash with a suppressor.

Well you're on redux forums talking about the originals.
X YdoC Jan 16, 2018 @ 2:18pm
Was never talking about the originals, just pulled that information off the wiki link. Same page you got your info from lol. Couldn't find anything so I decided to ask other people, forgive me. Also, thanks everyone for replying my question has been answered. I now know that the Kalash on the metro 2033 redux can be suppressed, and the one I picked up was nothing special. I can rest easy tonight.

I too prefer the smg version, using a loud version right now for the mutant packs in Ranger mode on last light redux. Off setting with a silenced revolver carbine right now, probably going for a lolife same set up when I can, or if I can get a helsing, go with that again.

I think everyone has successfully missed the train; dude was talking about a weapon he found, picked up and is now using that by current canon should not exist NOT about AK47/74M or SMG small arms and their variants & history.

DUDE apparently found a unique weapon and is asking for assistance establishing clarity not performance related debate.

The weapon could be, and is most likely if valid (and you stated you found the weapon in-game so it should be unless you're using MODs), a unique (highly customized) weapon variant and possibly an easter egg from within the story for which the game's based. I've read similar tales about issues much like yours concerning Metro, but cannot validate or even remember where I saw the discussion. At any rate, you probably have a rare unique, possibly easter egg weapon --enjoy!

I've played both redux and am still finding new areas and items like multiple NVG locations and the like; the more familiar with the more likely you'll explore a locale and sometimes you'll find something remarkable like alternatives (multiple item instances) and subtle to game changing uniquities in the form of totally unorthodox weaponry. Have fun Ranger!

This is the only unique that I know of in 2033. The "unique" you can find from the campaign in Last Light isn't unique, it's just a customized lolife that you could build later, but here it is early. DLC has some more options.
