So you can't stealth past the first mission with Bourbon?
after you meat up with Bourbon you go through the first area with bandits and even if you get to the door without raising the alarm you're stopped and punch in the face when you open the door to the next area. I've seriously got to take them all out and can't just stealth past?

This area cannot be sneaked past because Bourbon is not following you. We must therefore kill all the enemies.

What do you two say?
Of course you can do it. All you have to do is monitor the movements of the NPCs, how they are positioned and most importantly; avoid hitting the cans as otherwise they could be suspicious.
In that part you just have to be patient and be very careful.

No, Magsouille is correct, you can't stealth past it. You need to kill or knock out every npc before you can go through the door

I can confirm you are able to stealth this mission, Just knock-out or kill them silently (You have to be abit creative otherwise you will be spoted)
They are right . The Redux version is possible, it is the original version which is not possible because the people present at the campfire do not move. They changed it to make it easier to infiltrate this passage in redux

I mean I was able to stealth past it, but I wanted to stealth past without killing or knocking people out which is what's impossible. All the enemies need to be dealt with before you can continue

ok, I misunderstood. I don't think it is possible but I have never tried. Why do you want to do this?

just because I wanted to go through without disturbing any enemies, no reason really. I just felt kinda cheated when I reached the door and was stopped from going through it even though nobody noticed me.

The problem is Bourbon. If you don't eliminate the threat, he don't move, which is normal. But I understand that it can be disturbing . Without him, we would normally have been able to walk through the door, like some other moments in the game where we are solo. This is why the passages with several are rare in the Metro (play solo allows to be more free on the actions)

Atleast we can use him to get all kills and just loot :P

You can stealth the mission, as in walk past every NPC without killing or knocking them out, and without raising any alarm. As long as you don't raise an alarm, Bourbon doesn't get involved. The first room isn't easy, I won't lie, and the guys at the campfire mean you have to be very patient.

The key is, after you sneak past the last NPC in that first room, you have to shoot out (with your Tikhar) the light bulb in the hallway that leads to the second room. Then you can just walk by the guy who's nodding off in the chair.

Finding the right path through that first room, from the door with the wire to that doorway leading to the hallway, isn't easy. There will be some trial and error, likely. My recollection is that a couple of bold stealth-walks across open (but dark) space is the key.

No, I made it to the door unnoticed several times but there's always a cutscene where I get grabbed and knocked out after going through the door

Ah, THAT guy! Damn... I remember doing it, but I can't quite remember what happened there. This is proving to be more difficult even than the Outpost level in terms of stealthing....

As others have already said, it is fully, and easily, possible to complete this segment without raising any alarms, or killing anyone. You can NOT stealth past this without knocking them all out however, as Bourbon cant just magically teleport to you / sneak past them himself.

If you need a guide here it is: Walk in, go to the far right, knock out the two guys, its in the darkness, so no one will spot you. Wait for the left far guy with the light to walk as close to the start of the segment as possible, then knock him out aswell. Then proceed to listen to the campfire guys until they get up and start walking, knock them out one by one in the darkness. There will be one guy left at the campfire, one at the chair with the safe, and one by the door leading to the next part of the segment. Walk up to the guy by the door, and knock him out, this is in the darkness so the guy on the opposite side of the room (in the chair by the safe) wont see it. Then knock out the guy on the chair, as the guy from the campfire wont see it. Then walk from the side, to the guy by the campfire and knock him out too. You finished the first part. Then walk through the door to the next segment, and do not enter into the light before you see that the patrolling guard is not looking at you. When the patrolling guard is gone, knock out the guy in the middle of the light (you do not need to shoot the lightbulb out, as no one will see the knockout anyways, and shooting may cause full alert), then reassure yourself that the patrolling guard is not looking, and walk into the next room by the red door, in an area where there is not light. Wait for the patrolling guard and knock him out in the darkness. The last guy is the guy standing in a chair by the lightbulb at the wall. You cannot knock him out from the side as the game will not let you. Here, you have to walk from the side, straight infront of him, and spam the knockout button. You will knock him out before he raises any alarm. All guards are now knocked out and you can go loot all the goodies you can find, and open the safe. When you are ready to proceed, stand behind Bourbon at the red door and he will open it. You did it! (I did this on ranger hardcore).
