Metro doesn't go in Fullscreen anymore

I tried everyting from re-installing to litterly deleting every related file to Metro 2033 but it still doesn't work. i asked my friend to install the game on my account and he didn't have any problems. so my theory is that something went to ♥♥♥♥ in the Steam startup options?

If anyone has a clue please help!

my screen does that off and on but as soon as i lauch the game, it fixes itself.
reboot your PC and sometimes that fixes it....no permanent solution found yet for me.

Have u checked ur user.cfg on "%LOCALAPPDATA%\4A Games\Metro 2033"?
Check if "r_fullscreen" is set to "on"

I've tried alot since it started, it's already 2 months since the first time i encounterd this problem... i just want to replay the game. and then i give up and then one month later I reinstall the game and it still not in fullscreen

I dont have this problem on my Nvidia based GPU with fullscreen in games.
In GPU program setting, you can set desktop size and posision.
I can choose: Aspect Ratio - Full Screen - or no scaling. I use Aspcet Ratio. I can also choose that GPU override every scaling in games and programs, but its uncheked.
See if you can do something in GPU program (mine Nvidia Controlpanel)
I also have Auto in game for Aspect Ratio.

He means that you need to delete, then reinstall that portion of the file, the best way to do this currently is to verify the integrity of the game cache through steam.

Since i have an AMD based GPU i can't do that, i tried starting it via radeon settings and it didn't fix anything
