2035 Book... thoughts? SPOILERS
I've been reading the new English translation of 2035. It certainly has some consistent punctual errors, but nothing too game breaking :metromask: I'm only about 1/4 of the way through the book so far, but I'm curious of your opinion.

I didn't realize it doesn't encompass Last Light at all (like I had heard way back when, though I stopped listenening to any rumors when it actually released in Russian last year) and doesn't even start until long after the D6 battle. I guess now we can say Artyom was born in 2009-2010. I can certainly notice some of the more memorable tropes/scenes from Last Light coming through here since the author was writing this at the same time as LL. Sometimes it just feels like too many similarities, like Star Wars 4 and 7 (practically the same movie), though I'm not far in.

There is just as vivid description of the scenery as ever, much like the first book. I have been pretty sucked in and not much has happened. I'm just to the where he might meet some Nazis :mllrrad:

There are a lot of plot twists. Let me tell you

Dimitry did a great job of giving the metro and the surface a much darker atmosphere and towards the end, we really get the big picture on why there is nobody else left in the world.

I foresaw much of the more thematic and darker themes ahead of time when he hinted as much: A more mature author might have more mature themes as compared to the original 2033. Though I see many more darker themes that may have only been slightly itched in LL.
