I don't get what the ♥♥♥♥ I'm supposed to do. It doesn't help that I can't see anything due to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ NIGHT VISION.

The crane with the biomass. And NO, I can't turn it off. Artyom just decides to put it on and I can't turn it off or see the damn screen.

Hmm, sounds like you NV might be bugged. What actually happens when you try to turn it off with "N"?

As for the crane you just need to move it over all three cooling rods and extract them before the Biomass kills you.

If I remember correctly you just move over them and then hold down the fire button until you've grabbed them then use the aim buttom to pull them out.

When I've had night vision stuck on opening the'M' journal usually allows me to put it on over the already-on nightvision, then take it off.
