(EPIC) Fix For The Game Crash/Error at Launch

Just got the game for free on egs, unfortunately it refuse to start for me, always got appcrash error at launch. I tried any possible work around I found on here and the internet without a positive outcome. But I've found a solution:

When looking at the installation folder there is file "d3dcompiler_46.dll", leave it alone.
Now search your c drive for "d3dcompiler", you'll likely find lots of them, look for "d3dcompiler_47.dll" and paste it into your installation folder. Mine was copied from my Opera folder, around 4,1 mb size.

This was trial and error, I don't know what are those d3dcompiler does, maybe someone can explain...

If you are having the same problem, it's worth a try, that fix it for me :)

i copied the 3d3 compiler 47 and deactviated overlay from geforce experience and now it works but ffs man thats not how we should run a game

This worked for me. I also have been starting the game from the executable instead of from the EP launcher

This is happening for both Metro 2033 and Last Light from Epic store. Luckly I had already bought the entire series from steam and also GOG gave a free copy of Metro: Last Light. So the steam copies of the games are working and also the GOG version is working. But now with the steam copies , games are working fine but its not playing the intro video.

I have tried everything suggested and nothing has worked. Please help me!
Game crashes just after legal and intro videos.

Alt-tab crashes the game.

Same thing when I try safe mode.

Please help I've been up all night with this.... :(

Ive just tried your solution but no luck here, ♥♥♥♥ this... i can load the game but when intro ends crash to desktop, ive tried every solution found on steam forums but no luck..

Have you try running the exe file directly?
Before this workaround, I also installed new physx from nvidia.

Hmm...I don't know, have you try different settings?
If you have surround 5.1 or 7.1 setup try changing it to stereo
