Out of filters

im out of filters and i need them so im stuck in a constant loop of dying and respawning. please help

I think you have to load earlier if you cant find/loot any dead stalker body

Restart the current or any previous chapters, and be more carefull with your filters.

The suffocation is a timed thing and deals no damage to Artyom. My advice is next time when you are running really low on filters equip the gas mask for a quick breath, and then take off the mask for 10-20 seconds ( I don't remember the time it takes to suffocate but It's a while if I recall) and rinse and repeat until you find more filters or can take off the mask. Running also uses more oxygen so just walk. You can usually tell when you're using more oxygen because the mask will start to fog up and Artyom will breathe heavier. Just keep a close listen for Artyom's audio such as gasping or breathing faster and watch that watch. Papa Slurp out!

Also you can keep the current filter in for longer than the game implies. The game prompts you to "change filter" when its running out but I have found that actually is a bit wasteful. If you look at your watch you actually have a little more time that you can squeeze out of the current filter. Just wait until you hear Artyom really struggling and THEN change to a new filter. I kind of just had to do this in D6 as at the start of that level the game saved me at a point to where I happened to have only one filter left. Thankfully I found some a little further in.

That being said I have a question. There are a few occasions in the game where I discovered that I was wearing the gas mask when I did not need to be. Does the game register that unnecessary usage and deplete the filters anyways or does it sort of go into a automatic static mode where it won't allow the filters to be used up because the game detects you aren't in an area where you need them?
