so no way to play on windows 10?

checked everywhere and tried everything and nothing works....so stupid how games become obsolete so quickly due to newer OS. the redux version was released 2014....and windows 10 was released 2015! I understand windows 10 is not listed in the system requirements but I've heard others who managed to get the game to play on windows 10.

some crappy old school games I have from the early 2000s can still run in 'windows 7 compatibality mode' on my system...yet this one is only 3 yrs old and doesnt.

doesn't even load on mine for some reason. it's the only game out of the 300+ games i have my list that doesnt...weird. all i get is a black screen and it all just freezes up

it's a beefy system so it really can't be the hardware since I don't have this prob with any other game

You can first verify locale files in steam library, if you have'nt done it alredy. Close steam:
Then in 2003 programfolder/_CommonRedist and subfolders you find Vcredist_x86.exe and Vcredist _x64.exe - run both and do as prompt - restart. You also find DXsetup.exe in another subfolder. Run that file too and do as prompt - restart.
Windows update may have corrupted some of these files for the game.

This might be yor problem, try lowering the res and play in windowed mode.

Windows 10 is not the problem.

The resolution might be the problem. A friend of mine have had the same issues playing in 3440x1440.

4K is the worst for Metro 2033. I have the ability to use 4K but I play it on standard 1920x1080 and obviously it works seamlessley.
Check on whether it allows to play on W10 on 32 bit or 64 bit but I wouldn't expect that would make such a big difference?
