Game wont start. msvcp110?

I've reinstalled twice, rebooted and a cuple other things but I can't get it to work. When I click the launch button from steam, steam shows I'm playing the game for about 3-5 seconds and then nothing. The game doesn't come up, no proccess running in the background, and steam doesn't even think I'm playing the game. It just doesn't start at all. Going into the files I click the metro.exe and I get an error. It says:

The procedure entry point__crtCreateSymbolicLinkW could not be located in the dynamic link library C:WINDOWS/SYSTEM/MSVCP110.dll.

I checked the location and I found the file, everything seemed fine. I deleted the file and reinstalled, still didnt work. Went to the web and tried the "vcredist_x64.exe" to fix the file or something and that didnt work either.

I've tried very hard to get this game to work but I'm completely out of ideas. Without help, I don't think I'm ever goign to play this game.

did you tried to reinstall visual c++ and download that .dll file from internet?

gosh, I swear I tried so hard to get this game to to work but you know, sometimes the simplest solution is the best one. Thanks, it works fine now.

can you halp me becouse it doesnt work to me either but I am a noob so can you explain it to me what do I have to do to make it work to me? please I need help

you go to dll-files.com search your missing dll (like msvcp120.dll or something) and download newest version of that file, then extract it to C:\Windows\System32

i had this too but only when i choose "launch" in start, try "Metro 2033" insted

Previous launch was unsuccesful. Would you like to start in safe mode?

After both answers
black screen turns on for a moment and disapears

hmmm... try go to game properties, files, and find option "verify integrity of game files"

I have this same exact issue with both Metro Redux games.

Hey, I checked that, and you probably should open game from files
Steam\steamapps\common\Metro 2033 Redux

Make sure you download the 2012 version of visual c++, i've had the same issue for so long and forgot i was looking at 6 year old forums, here's the link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679#

Installed it, changed the user.cfg file nothing works for me...
